Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1336

"We have to believe in Emmy." James's voice was low and hoarse, heavy with the exhaustion of several sleepless nights, yet it carried an undeniable, absolute certainty. "She is so strong. She will definitely conquer this nightmare and wake up."

His dark, piercing eyes were fixed deeply on the pale woman lying in the bed. Suddenly, as if struck by an idea, he turned his head sharply toward Dr. Hall.

"Can we let the kids try?" he asked.

Dr. Hall paused, considering his words. She did not answer immediately. Instead, she turned and walked briskly out of the room to urgently consult the psychiatric specialists waiting in the outer lounge. A few minutes later, she returned and nodded at James.

"We can give it a try. The bond between a mother and her children might just trigger a miracle," Dr. Hall said.

Upon hearing this, a massive surge of hope ignited in Teresa's dull, tear stained eyes. She frantically wiped her face and nodded enthusiastically. "I will go get them! I will go right now!"

Stumbling over her own feet, she bolted out of the room, loudly calling for the two nannies waiting outside. It did not take long before the hurried patter of little footsteps echoed down the hallway.

The moment the two little toddlers were carried into the room, they squirmed restlessly, demanding to be put down. The second her feet touched the floor, Dolly, dressed in her pink strawberry pajamas, sprinted on her short little legs straight toward the bed. However, the mattress was entirely too high, and she could not see over the edge. Frustrated, the little girl stood on her tiptoes, her tiny hands desperately gripping the edge of the bed as she looked around for a solution.

Seeing his sister struggle, Joey's large, dark eyes darted around the room. He turned and trotted back out the door. A moment later, he returned, grunting with effort as he dragged a small plastic step stool into the room. He placed it carefully right next to the bed and lifted one stubby leg, preparing to climb up.

Instantly, Dolly's eyes lit up. She forcefully shoved her way in, stepping onto the stool and scrambling directly onto the mattress. Joey's little leg hovered in midair. He looked at his bossy sister, a completely resigned expression crossing his chubby face. Pulling his foot back, he raised his tiny hands, placed them firmly against Dolly's bottom, and used every ounce of strength he had to push her the rest of the way up. Only then did he use his hands and knees to awkwardly climb up after her.

The light in Teresa's eyes slowly faded away once more. She buried her face in her handkerchief, sobbing uncontrollably in defeat.

Dr. Hall looked at the stabilized vitals and let out a soft sigh. "Let them stay and keep trying," she said, turning to James and lowering her voice. "At the very least, her reaction this time was stronger than anything we have seen before. Perhaps this method really will work."

Knowing that having too many people in the room could disrupt the patient's subconscious, Dr. Hall signaled the medical team to leave. She then gently took the weeping Teresa by the arm, led her out of the room, and quietly pulled the door shut.

The massive bedroom was instantly left with only James and the mother and children on the bed.
