Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1552

The violent, salty sea breeze whipped fiercely at their clothes. Dean leaned halfway over the railing, the veins on the back of his hand bulging as he kept a death grip on Emmy's wrist. As soon as he lowered his head, he met a pair of eyes cold as death staring back from a second floor window. The dark muzzle of a sniper rifle was aimed dead center at his forehead. Instead of panicking, Dean suddenly let out a bizarre laugh, his eyes brimming with manic provocation. "Shoot! Try it, James!" he yelled. "If you kill me, my hand will let go in an instant!" He shook his arm slightly, causing Emmy to let out a muffled groan of pain as she dangled in the air. "Look carefully! This yacht is sixty meters high, and there is no way you can catch her! If I die, she dies with me!"

James ground his back teeth together, his knuckles turning a horrifying white from gripping the sniper rifle so tightly. Apocalyptic murderous intent surged in his eyes, but he forcefully suppressed it. He abruptly lowered the muzzle of his gun. The moment he withdrew his weapon, the vicious glint in Dean's eyes was fully exposed. Moving at lightning speed, Dean drew a handgun from his lower back with his free hand and aimed it down at James. Two sharp gunshots rang out.

"No!" Emmy screamed, her voice tearing through the air as she hung suspended. But James reacted instantly, guided by the beast like instincts forged in countless hails of gunfire. He evaded at top speed the second Dean raised his hand. The bullets grazed his hair and struck the metal railing he had just been leaning against, erupting in blinding sparks. Missing his target made Dean's heart sink heavily. He knew all too well how terrifying James's solo combat capabilities were. If that man managed to sneak up to the second floor, he would never make it out alive today.

"Hurry! Retreat!" Dean roared at the subordinates rushing up behind him. Exerting a massive burst of strength from his core, he yanked the dangling Emmy forcefully back onto the deck. Before she could even find her footing, he roughly bound her hands and feet with a leather belt and scooped her into his arms. "Let me go! You mad dog! Let me go!" Emmy struggled desperately, thrashing and beating him with all her might. Ignoring her curses, Dean carried her and sprinted wildly toward the helipad on the top deck. The deafening roar of engines already filled the air as a black helicopter idled in wait.

Emmy fought so fiercely that she nearly tumbled out of his arms several times. A flash of ruthless determination crossed Dean's eyes as he tossed her into the backseat of the helicopter. Before she could scramble up, he pulled out a pair of handcuffs and locked her directly to the seat. "Be a good girl, Emmy. I am taking you home," he whispered in a sick, obsessive tone before shoving her deep into the seat. "Go!" he barked at the pilot. The helicopter instantly lifted off the ground, its rotors churning up a violent tempest of air.

With a loud crash, the iron door leading to the top deck was kicked open. James stormed out with his men, his assault rifle spitting angry tongues of fire. A deafening hail of bullets erupted as the two sides immediately engaged in a fierce firefight, weaving a dense net of crossfire in the air. But the helicopter had already ascended, rapidly putting distance between them until it became a mere black dot vanishing over the ocean. James stared in the direction it had disappeared, his eyes blood red. A terrifying, violent aura radiated from his entire body.

Just then, Calony rushed up from behind with a large contingent of heavily armed soldiers. "Mr. Nelson! The men below have all been taken care of, and my forces have completely seized the yacht! Did you catch Dean?" Without any warning, James strode toward him, suddenly raising his long leg to deliver a brutal kick squarely into Calony's chest. The impact sent the towering major general flying backward, skidding several meters across the deck before coming to a halt.
