Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 1555

"Shh." Ben quickly raised a finger to his lips. He looked around with nervous vigilance before lowering his voice to a whisper. "Come with me. I will get you out of here." Emmy hesitated, rooted to the spot. At this moment, she had to be wary of everyone in this place. How could she be sure this was not another trick orchestrated by the Sparrow family? Ben recognized her defensive posture and let out a bitter sigh, his eyes heavy with the weight of profound hardship.

"Do not worry," Ben said gently. "That bastard Dean has committed far too many atrocities, and now he is even delusional enough to try and kidnap you. I truly cannot bear to watch him continue down this path of ruin. Come with me. I know an exit we can use." Looking into those deeply weathered yet remarkably sincere eyes, Emmy finally gritted her teeth and followed him. Ben's leg seemed injured, forcing him to walk with a slow, pronounced limp. He guided Emmy past the surveillance cameras, hugging the walls of the dim metal corridors as they ventured deeper into the facility.

Only when he was absolutely certain no one was around did Ben turn back to Emmy, his eyes suddenly glistening with unshed tears. "Emmy, I am so truly sorry." The old man's cloudy eyes were filled with agonizing remorse. "At first, I had no idea he was running these monstrous, illegal experiments, or that he was using them to launder vast sums of money overseas. It was not until he forcefully brought me here and I saw those things with my own eyes that I realized what kind of sick business he was operating. I tried to reason with him, but he is too stubborn. He is an absolute lunatic who will not listen to a single word I say!"

Ben kept his voice low, but it trembled violently with intense emotion. "Emmy, I have been secretly gathering evidence while trapped here, and you must take it with you. Hand it over to your father-in-law so he can mobilize the military and obliterate every high ranking official and corrupt tycoon colluding with these illegal experiments!" Ben stared at Emmy, his gaze laced with a chilling terror. "You have no idea how deep this conspiracy runs. Once these unethical technologies are perfected, the entire world will be doomed!"

"The ultra wealthy will casually breed human hosts just to harvest their organs for eternal life," Ben continued, his voice cracking. "The poor will not even have control over their own genetics, reduced to nothing more than priced blood bags and test subjects! Societal ethics will completely collapse, and the world will morph into a grotesque, cannibalistic monster's paradise!" As he spoke with a trembling voice, Ben ushered Emmy into a concealed iron door. It was his bedroom, sparsely furnished but piled high with dense stacks of books against the walls.

He approached the books and with shaking hands, removed the top layer. From a hidden compartment at the very bottom, he pulled out a thick manila envelope and a black flash drive. He pressed them solemnly into Emmy's hands. "You must survive and get these out. This drive contains the geographical locations and financial trails of all the overseas branches tied to this core lab. And this envelope is filled with the files of every clone they have successfully incubated! There are already many perfect clones roaming freely in society out there. They have replaced their original counterparts and infiltrated numerous social classes. You have to find them and eliminate them without mercy! Otherwise, humanity will face total chaos!"

A cold chill ran down Emmy's spine as she gripped the manila envelope and the flash drive tightly. "Uncle Ben, come with me. Let us leave together, and you can hand these over to the President yourself!" But Ben shook his head in absolute despair. He slowly bent down and rolled up the wide leg of his trousers. Emmy's gaze fell upon his frail, emaciated calf, and her pupils shrank in horror. A metal collar gleaming with a cold, harsh light was welded tight around his ankle, a small red indicator light blinking steadily.

"I cannot leave," Ben said, pointing at the metal band with a smile that looked more heartbreaking than a sob. "I have been fitted with their most advanced tracker and shock collar. The moment I step outside a specific perimeter of this base, the circuit triggers. The agony of that electricity piercing through my bones and organs is far too much to bear." Emmy stared at him, her eyes wide with disbelief. "How could Dean do this to you? You are his father!"
