A couple nearby was in the middle of a spat. The girl suddenly snapped at her boyfriend.
“Look at that guy over there. He’s way better looking than you, and he doesn’t act all high and mighty either. My legs are killing me. Can’t you give me a massage?”
The guy rolled his eyes. “There are massage chairs right there. Use one.”
She pouted. “Why can’t I get a little free service from you? There’s no way a chair feels better than your hands. I don’t care, you’re massaging my legs right now.”
He let out a sigh, lifted her leg, and started kneading it, totally half-hearted about it.
Emmy overheard them and out of nowhere, a warm, blissful feeling bubbled up inside her.
She leaned her chin on her hand, turned to James, and her gaze softened.
“Babe,” she asked quietly, “how did you get so good at taking care of people?”
James didn’t pause, just quirked an eyebrow. “So, what’s my rating now?”
Emmy pretended to think about it. “Ninety out of a hundred, maybe.”
“Ninety?” James pressed. “Where’d the other ten points go?”
She grinned. “When you become a great dad, I’ll give you the rest.”
James just pressed his lips together, said nothing, and started massaging her other leg.
Then Emmy shot the same question back at him. “How about me? What’s my score in your eyes?”
“One hundred and one,” he answered right away.
Emmy blinked. “Wait, why the extra point?”
James looked up at her, his dark eyes shining. “Because you’re my only one.”
Emmy’s heart skipped a beat.
Since when was he this smooth?
She stared at him, totally caught up, barely noticing when the couple next to them started arguing even louder.
Eventually, the girl stomped off, and the guy was left standing there, looking lost.
He scratched his head, then actually wandered over to James. “Man, how do you do it? Your girlfriend looks like she’s in another world.”
Emmy instantly blushed and ducked her head, pretending to mess with her phone.
Then James said, “You’re the one with the ex. Compared to him, do I measure up?”
Her smile froze.
She’d given so much in her last relationship, sometimes she even felt guilty that she couldn’t give James more.
Looking at him, Emmy answered seriously, “If we’re comparing, I’d give you one hundred and one, too. You’re my only one.”
James’s eyes flickered, something deep and heated swirling in them. The air suddenly felt warmer.
He leaned closer, his nose almost brushing hers. The moment pulsed between them. He was about to kiss her.
Right then.
Emmy hadn’t realized he could be so easily moved.
Just before his lips touched hers, she quickly put a finger to his mouth.
“I’m starving. Let’s eat first.”
If they were going to kiss, it definitely wasn’t going to be here with everyone watching.

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
