Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 773

The bodyguard paused, then finally said, “It’s your assistant, Danny.”

Emmy stared at her phone, confused.

“Ms. Lincoln, I’ve just sent you the photos.”

A second later, her phone buzzed with new messages.

The pictures showed Krystina and Danny sitting in a coffee shop. Krystina was talking, hands animated, while Danny leaned in, listening with a serious look. But the angle of the shot was so sneaky, it almost looked like they were kissing.

There were more photos, too. Krystina and Danny leaving the Starlight Corporation building together, walking in and out of a private club, showing up side by side at a fancy restaurant. One shot even caught them leaving a five-star hotel together.

Emmy pressed her fingers to her temples, trying to ease the pounding in her head.

Anyone could see Krystina and Danny were just working. Meeting with clients, handling business.

But Krystina’s husband was determined to twist things, desperate to take everything Krystina had worked so hard to build.

“Ms. Lincoln,” the bodyguard’s voice came back over the line, “James is here now. I’ll call you again later.”

The call ended.

Emmy didn’t have to wait long. Only half an hour later, her phone rang again. This time, the bodyguard sounded much more at ease.

“Ms. Lincoln, it’s taken care of.”

“As soon as James arrived, he dug up the truth. Turns out, Mr. Carter’s husband was cheating first. His mistress is already three months pregnant. Her family’s pressing for a big wedding, so he was in a rush to force Ms. Carter into a divorce and split her assets.”

“James has already picked up Ollie. Now Ms. Carter is negotiating divorce terms with her husband.”

Emmy let out a long breath, finally relaxing. She leaned back in her chair and said, “Don’t leave Ms. Carter’s side. Stay with her until every signature is on that divorce agreement.”

After hanging up, Emmy turned to look out at the night sky. For the first time all evening, a small smile tugged at her lips.

Finally, things were looking up.

Once the divorce was final, her friend wouldn’t have to repeat the heartbreak of her past life.

Riverdale.

Krystina knew everything now. The truth hit her like a punch to the gut, and her heart just couldn’t take it anymore.

Not only had he cheated, he’d gotten another woman pregnant. Then he had the nerve to try and frame her, to make her leave with nothing.

Her last thread of self-control snapped.

She rushed forward and slapped him, hard, across the face.

“You bastard!”

Tears streamed down her cheeks. Her voice shook as she shouted.

Henry just sneered, holding his hands out like he was dealing with someone unreasonable.

“None of that money’s left.”

He looked at her like she was crazy. “Face reality, Krystina. You gave me that money. You said you wanted me to be a stay-at-home husband and handle the finances.”

“You gave it to me, so it’s mine.”

The room spun. Krystina felt like she might pass out.

Every penny she made, she handed over to him because she wanted him to feel secure, to show her trust and love. She never imagined he’d use it as an excuse to steal everything from her.

“Henry!”

She was furious, totally losing control. She tried to slap him again, but this time Henry was ready. He grabbed her wrist, his eyes dark and dangerous, and shoved her backward.

“Enough with the drama!”

Krystina stumbled two steps and nearly fell, but the bodyguard caught her just in time.

Henry watched, his sneer growing colder and more dismissive.

“Look at you. So what if I cheated? Are you any better?”

“You always have men around you. Today it’s the assistant, tomorrow it’s the director. Who knows, maybe you’re even worse than me.”
