Teresa shook her head, her brow drawn tight with worry. “There’s no hard evidence, but I can’t shake this feeling,” she said quietly.
She leaned back against the railing, letting the sea breeze play with her hair. “This island… it’s prettier than any we’ve seen before. Everything here looks like it’s been designed down to the last detail. Almost too perfect.”
She paused, searching for the right words. “The whole vibe feels… American. Like someone from the States picked out every feature.”
“Did you see that little garden?” she went on, eyes serious. “There’s this winding walkway, lawns on either side, flowerbeds trimmed to perfection. It’s nothing like the wild, free style you usually find on tropical islands. It just doesn’t fit.”
Andrew’s face turned grave. “Now that you mention it, something about the island’s owner bothered me too. Right in the middle of his living room, there’s this massive golden crystal sphere. That thing must be worth at least a hundred million dollars. If I owned something like that, I’d know every detail about it.”
“But when I tried to ask him, just in passing, about where it came from and its specifics, he dodged the question. It was obvious he doesn’t really know the place at all.”
They locked eyes, both seeing the same shock and fear reflected back at them. Teresa’s breath hitched, her voice trembling. “Call James. Now.”
“Emmy… she has to be here,” she whispered, her grip on Andrew’s arm turning desperate. “The camellias, the roses in the garden, the swing on the beach… those are all Emmy’s favorites. That’s why it felt so off to me.”
Andrew steadied her, his voice low and reassuring. “Alright, I’ll call him right now. James is on an island nearby.”
…
Night swallowed the sea and sky, blurring the horizon. Far from the pink sand island, a speedboat cut its engine. A lone figure, lean and quick as a big cat, slipped into the cold water.
The moment James got the call, he didn’t hesitate. He went for the most dangerous, most direct way in.
He knew. She was here. His heart pounded, blood roaring in his ears. He picked up speed, getting close to the villa’s edge.
The lights inside were blazing, turning night into day. James pressed himself to the wall, inching toward a window that glowed with warm light.
But something felt wrong. The whole place was too quiet, like it was completely empty.
Then, just as he started to pull back, every searchlight around him blazed to life, turning night to blinding white. He was caught in the open, nowhere to hide.
Dozens of men rushed out of the darkness, rifles up, every barrel pointed straight at him.

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
