Emmy had been moved to a bigger island.
From time to time, she could hear faint music and laughter drifting across from the far end of the island, but she was strictly told not to leave the villa. Dean hadn’t shown up in days.
She asked the maid where he was. The maid kept her head down and replied softly, “Sir is busy. He’ll be back soon.”
One afternoon, Emmy asked if she could take a walk by the sea. The maid stopped her right away and said the beach wasn’t safe. So Emmy was stuck wandering around the villa’s huge swimming pool.
There was no manicured garden here, no swing or hammock like the ones she loved. Just two lonely lounge chairs by the pool. Dense jungle stretched in every direction, making the place feel like a cage.
There was no one to talk to. If she wanted to see the ocean, she had to stand on the villa’s second-floor balcony and stare at it from a distance.
Every day felt heavier than the last—boring, suffocating, endless. Emmy had no idea when any of it would end. The ache in her chest grew, but there was no one she could talk to about it.
A couple more days passed before Dean finally showed up.
Emmy was on the balcony when she saw him arrive. He looked tense, his face set in a hard line. But when he came upstairs and spotted her, his gentle smile appeared like nothing was wrong.
“I heard you’ve been good while I was gone.” He came closer and reached out to touch her hair.
Emmy turned her head, just enough to avoid his hand. His smile faded, his hand hanging in the air for a moment. But then he rested his palm on her head anyway, giving her hair a gentle ruffle.
Her face stayed blank, numb, like a doll with no soul.
Suddenly, Emmy looked up at him. “Let me go.”
Dean was caught off guard, almost like he didn’t hear her right. “…What?”
But Emmy just turned away and went back to staring at the endless ocean, her eyes empty.
Dean noticed something was wrong. He tugged her along, pointing out pretty fish, but her eyes never focused, as if her soul had floated away.
Back on the yacht, he finally lost it.
He tore off her oxygen mask and stared at her lifeless face, his anger and helplessness boiling over.
“What do I have to do to make you happy?” His voice was raw. “Emmy, tell me. What am I supposed to do?”
Emmy’s body shook at his outburst. She slowly lifted her head, eyes that used to shine now dull and empty.
She looked at him, her lips barely moving.
“Let me go.”

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
