James looked at her, his eyes soft. “You’re good to walk around now.”
He reached out his right hand, palm up, like it was the most natural thing in the world. An invitation. The kind of gesture a husband makes when he just wants to hold his wife’s hand, no second thought about it. His hand was big and steady, fingers long and strong, callused just enough to promise safety.
Emmy hesitated for a split second. She glanced at his hand, but only for a heartbeat. Then she acted like she hadn’t even noticed, turned to the side, and walked right past him.
“Let’s go,” she said.
James’s hand hung in the air for a moment, catching the sunlight. It looked out of place, almost lonely. He watched Emmy’s slim figure move ahead, and something in his eyes dimmed, disappointment flickering just for a second. He pulled his hand back and tucked it into his pocket.
It was fine. There was still plenty of time.
He picked up his pace and followed her.
The villa sat up on a cliff, looking out over a gentle slope. The views on both sides were stunning. Down to the south, there was a massive, perfectly flat helipad, and three huge black helicopters sat parked, gleaming in the light. Beyond that, a sprawling green lawn stretched all the way to a thick grove of coconut trees.
Emmy stopped, gazing out toward the south. There was a new spark in her eyes, a little bit of life she hadn’t shown in a while.
James came up beside her, his voice low. “Mom said you used to really love golf.”
“That lawn over there is a full-on golf course, built to international standards. You can play any time you want.”
Emmy turned, her eyes lighting up. “Seriously? How’s your game? Want to play against me sometime?”
There was that playful, slightly sassy edge to her voice, the kind that made her Emmy.
James watched her animated face, feeling a little warmth bloom in his chest. He nodded, eyes soft with affection. “Anytime you want.”
He paused, then nodded toward the coconut trees. “There’s a stable over there too.”
“We’ve got some purebred warmbloods. If you like riding, you can pick any horse you want.”
No wonder James could claim this was the safest place on earth.
They walked for about ten minutes before the path opened up, and Emmy was stunned by the sight. Hidden deep in the island, there was a huge stable surrounded by endless white fencing. Lush green grass rippled in the breeze like waves.
“Mr. Nelson!”
The stable manager, a middle-aged American with deeply tanned skin, spotted them and hurried over. His face broke into a big smile, but his eyes were respectful. He looked straight at Emmy and called out,
“Island owner, you’re here!”
His voice rang out, full of energy.
Emmy froze, caught completely off guard.

chapter 1251 has no wording, just the chapter number...
What I was dreading the most just happened, I think I need to move on from this story and read something else. This story is breaking my heart....

Hopefully Emmy is level headed like she normally is and they can get past this. I'm praying!...
OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
Really, why is there always some home wrecker added to these stories? I always enjoyed reading this until now. Had to go and ruin a beautiful love story....
I enjoy reading this. I like that the storyline isn’t drawn out and moves on. I also appreciate chapters being added almost everyday, thank you....
