He closed the folder slowly, every movement so deliberate it was almost ominous. It was such a simple thing, yet it sent a chill racing down Tyler’s spine. Something bad was about to happen. He just knew it.
Sure enough, James spoke up. His voice was so calm it was almost icy.
“Everyone, let me be frank. I really don’t care whose name is on this report. Because I’m not Mr. Nelson. I’m James. Just James.”
The whole room exploded. People gasped, then the whispers started, spreading like wildfire.
“What? There are three Nelson brothers now?”
“Why have I never heard of this before?”
“Wait, so... is Mr. Nelson a fake?”
“Quiet!” Tyler’s assistant snapped, but it was no use. The secret was out, and the whole place was in chaos.
Every single person stared at James like he’d just grown a second head. He looked exactly like Mr. Nelson. How could he not be?
Tyler felt his heart drop. He glared at James, his eyes cold and hard. “Think before you speak, brother,” he said, the warning clear in his tone. “Nelson Corporation does not tolerate this kind of scandal.”
He honestly hadn’t seen this coming. He’d thought of so many ways James might fight back, but never this. James was blowing up his own identity. It was a crazy move, the kind that hurt yourself just as much as your enemy.
Their grandmother’s will had tied his shares and Jamie’s together. If the board found out that the other “Mr. Nelson” was an impostor—worse, that he’d died years ago—then both Jamie’s shares and Tyler’s would be taken back by the board. They’d both lose everything, together.
James turned to the room full of shocked executives. “Jamie and I were twins. He died twelve years ago. I’ve been filling in for him ever since, managing half of Nelson Corporation. Today, I’m giving back all of Jamie’s shares...”
He paused, then spoke slowly, every word hitting hard. “They all go back to the board.”
The room erupted again, louder than before.
Tyler looked like he’d been punched. James wasn’t just burning his own bridges, he was taking Tyler’s with him. The news hit Nelson Corporation like a bomb.
According to Mrs. Nelson’s will, if James’s confession was true and he returned the shares, the board would also take back the other half. In the blink of an eye, the two brothers—who’d seemed destined to fight for control—were about to be nobodies.
This was going to shake the entire company for days.

OMG! How can this be happening! If there is an issue in a marriage shouldn't it be talked through instead of someone believing rumors?...
