“Let’s go inside and talk,” Tiffany said, trying to hold back her tears as she took Mrs. Berenson’s arm, and the two of them walked into the house together.

The butler had already set out tea and some treats ahead of time.

All of them were Kindowen’s famous specialties.

Mrs. Berenson and Eliana hadn’t visited Kindowen in years, so of course, they had to sample all the best treats the city had to offer.

After a while, seeing the two elders had finally settled down, Eliana said, “Mom, let’s have Mrs. Sullivan take us to see Leo.”

Honestly, besides visiting Mrs. Sullivan, they were even more eager to see Leo.

Mrs. Berenson nodded.

Tiffany stood up from her chair. “Alright, you two, come with me.”

Leo lived in his own separate compound.

His room was actually the same wedding suite he’d once shared with Charlotte.

On the walls were their wedding photos, a baby photo of Ariel from her one-month celebration even the little crib where Ariel had slept.

Even the old teddy bear that had always been in the crib was still there.

The whole place felt warm and cozy.

party, and

As soon as they stepped into the room, Mrs. Berenson and Eliana could picture the happy family moments of Leo, Charlotte, and Ariel right there in front of them, as if the warmth and joy of those days still lingered in the air.

Mrs. Berenson and Eliana felt a heavier ache in their hearts.

Their noses tingled, and the feelings they’d just managed to suppress came rushing back, making their eyes grow misty again as they could barely hold back their tears.

Tiffany walked over to the bed. “Leo, your mother-in-law and Eliana are here to see you.”

Leo was lying in bed, motionless.

He showed no reaction at all.

Tears welled up in Mrs. Berenson’s eyes again as she reached out and took Leo’s hand. “Leo, you have to get better soon. Only when you’re well again can I finally uncover who hurt you, Charlotte, and Ariel. I swear I’ll get justice for your family. Those who harmed you will never know peace.”

Anna hugged Luna’s arm, smiling. “Good thing you and Dad had something come up that day and didn’t get in the car. Otherwise, it could’ve been the three of us in that crash.”

Luna’s expression didn’t change as she continued, “Everyone has their own destiny. Maybe that was just the fate for Leo, Charlotte, and Ariel. They were just passing through this world, couldn’t hold onto anything, and couldn’t take anything with them.”

But as for her family of three, they were here to claim all the riches and glory this world had to offer. And no one was ever going to take what was theirs.

At that thought, Luna’s gaze grew steely with resolve.

“Yeah, that’s just how fate works. You never know what’s coming until the very last moment, like our family,” Anna said, brushing her bangs aside. “Ariel was supposed to inherit everything from the Sullivan family, but now? Everything has changed.”

Now, the tables had completely turned.

She was the one fate had chosen, the true heiress of the Sullivan family.

Ariel? She was just a corpse now.

Once Mrs. Sullivan was out of the picture, she’d flip the Sullivan Group into the Bailey Group in a heartbeat.

She’d only planned to keep the Sullivan Group’s name for her mom’s sake.

But Mrs. Sullivan had disappointed her beyond words.

Mrs. Sullivan thought she couldn’t even hold a candle to Ariel.

Fine, if that was how it was, she’d show no mercy.

Luna placed her hand on Anna’s shoulder and said earnestly, “Anna, your grandma may not have lost a child in her old age, but with your uncle like this, it’s basically the same thing. She’s really pitiful, so try to be understanding. If she gives you a hard time, just let it go, no big deal. She’s already in her sixties. Honestly, how many years does she have left?”

Once Mrs. Sullivan was gone, the Sullivan family would fall right into her daughter’s hands.

After all, Anna was the only one left in this world who shared blood with Mrs. Sullivan in the younger generation.

No matter how much Mrs. Sullivan disliked Anna, she’d have no choice but to pass the Sullivan Group to her.

After a pause, Luna went on, “And listen, you need to really work on Mrs. Berenson and Eliana. They haven’t set foot in Kindowen for nineteen years. So tomorrow, you will personally show them around the city, hit all the best spots. Don’t waste this chance, and try to make them both like you. If you can get Mrs. Berenson to invite you to Minttown herself, that’s the jackpot.”

“Got it, Mom,” Anna nodded, a sly glint flashing in her eyes.

Her goal was simple. She was going to have both the Sullivan family and the Bailey family wrapped around her finger.

In Aosthorne.

At a smoothie café.

Nerissa and Faye were chilling together, each with a smoothie in hand.

On top of that, they’d ordered some cute little desserts to share.

Faye was scrolling through her phone, grinning. “Nerissa, did you hear? The Calloway Group is dropping a new game at midnight tonight. I can’t wait!”

Faye was a hardcore gamer.

She loved all the games Calloway Group had put out before. With Owen being called the hottest dark horse in finance in a decade, this new game had her even more excited.

Honestly, it wasn’t just Faye who was excited.

She definitely wasn’t the only one.

In real life, pretty much everyone was looking forward to the Calloway Group’s new game.

As for Kinsbeat Game, people were waiting too.

Bu they were all just waiting to watch Kinsbeat make a fool of themselves.

“You’re hyped for the Calloway Group?” Nerissa raised her eyebrows. “Why not look forward to Kinsbeat Game instead?”

“Why?” Faye asked, her curiosity piqued.

Nerissa took a sip of her smoothie. “Because Kinsbeat Game is dropping an AAA Game, and the content is totally fresh. I bet you’ll love it.”

Faye chuckled. “AAA Game? Come on, that’s impossible. Even the top studios overseas haven’t pulled that off, so how could anyone here do it? Kinsbeat Game did post some screenshots and gifs, but everyone called them out as fake ages ago.”

“That video was real,” Nerissa replied calmly.

“Real?” Faye narrowed her eyes, clearly not buying it. “It just doesn’t look legit, though. Kinsbeat Game,”

Bang!

Faye was still talking when she accidentally knocked over her smoothie.

The smoothie splashed all over Nerissa’s arm, soaking her clothes.

“Oh my god, Nerissa! I swear I didn’t mean to!” Faye shot up, flustered. “Are you okay?”

“It’s fine. The smoothie is cold,” Nerissa said, rolling up her sleeve. “I’ll just go wash my hands in the bathroom.”

Faye let out a sigh of relief. “Let me go with you.”

“No need,” Nerissa waved her off. “Fifi, just stay here. If we both leave, the waiter might clear everything away.”

“Alright, I’ll wait for you here,” Faye said.

About three minutes later, Nerissa came out of the bathroom.

Her sleeve was still rolled up, showing off her fair-skinned, flawless arm. Just above the bend of her elbow, there was a red birthmark.

It looked just like a red petal against her fair skin, really beautiful and impossible not to notice.

Faye’s eyes went straight to it. “Nerissa, that birthmark on your arm is stunning!”

Not everyone could really rock a tattoo.

That was why many people considered tattoos sketchy. It was not the ink, and it was just that most people didn’t have the style to pull it off.

But on Nerissa, that birthmark looked like it was meant to be there, so natural and striking, and it was impossible not to admire.

Nerissa pointed at her arm and said with a playful smile, “You mean this, Fifi?”

“Yep!” Faye replied, eyes bright with interest as she nodded.

Nerissa chuckled, sounding casual. “It’s not a tattoo, just a birthmark. I’ve had it since I was little.”

Faye was genuinely surprised. She’d never actually met anyone with a birthmark before. “Whoa, a birthmark? Nerissa, you really have one! If your parents ever lost you as a kid, they could’ve recognized you by that birthmark and found you right away!”

That got Faye thinking, and she suddenly asked, “Wait, Nerissa, how come you never mention your mom or dad?”

Faye realized that in all the time she’d known Nerissa, she’d only ever heard her talk about her grandpa.

Nerissa’s hand froze as she reached for a dessert. Her eyes grew misty, hidden behind her long lashes, making it hard to read her expression. “My grandpa found me by the roadside and took me in. I don’t have any parents.”
