“Miss Walton, you could’ve told us about your identity much earlier.”
Aurora looked puzzled. “Mr. Smith, is there something wrong with my identity?”
“It’s all over the internet now. Everyone knows about you and Lucas. You remember how arrogant Yvonne was before? A big part of that came from her supposed connection with him.”
He sighed. “She’s been claiming for weeks that the two of them were together, and then with those doctored photos of them all over social media, people would believe it naturally.
“But now that the truth’s out, the rumors have fallen apart on their own, haven’t they?”
A faint smile curved Aurora’s lips, her expression brightening with quiet satisfaction.
Seeing that, the director slapped his thigh with enthusiasm. “Still, with the way this show’s performing, we should really take advantage of the momentum to do some proper promotion.
“The rumors being cleared up is a win for both of us. You don’t need to hold back because of Yvonne anymore.”
Aurora shook her head slightly. “Better to keep things as they were. Yvonne still has a strong reputation in this industry, and her style just doesn’t suit this project, that’s all. I’d rather not make it personal.”
Since stepping into the business world, Aurora had learned to approach everything with diligence and caution.
Never give others a chance to find fault, especially with things she wasn’t yet fluent in.
The director immediately waved his hands. “Trouble? Not at all! You being here brought us a wave of attention we could never have bought.”
He couldn’t help grinning. “Honestly, this is the best-performing reality show I’ve produced in years. Whether people are watching it or not, everyone’s heard about it.”
After all, the public was obsessed with the drama unfolding online—curious about every little detail of how things would turn out.
And since Aurora was right here, filming in the middle of it all, the show became the only place where viewers could get a glimpse of her side of the story.
If he were one of those curious netizens, he thought with a chuckle, he’d be tuning in too and spamming the live chat, eager to see how Aurora was really doing.
