Chapter 369.
“Mr. Lawson,” I said slowly, fepeating my word in a weird tone.
Xander’s brow furrowed. “He came to see you?”
I didn’t want him to know about the possibility of a past relationship between my mother and Mr. Lawson, so I said, “He’s an old acquaintance of my parents.”
It could be a friend, a classmate.
Any explanation would work.
Even though, given Mr. Lawson’s status and circles, it was highly unlikely that he knew my parents.
They wouldn’t have had any overlap.
What kind of mysterious past could there possibly be between an alpha and a bonded, mothered omega from different Pack?
Xander heard my vagueness and didn’t press
further.
“Okay, I understand.”
I breathed a sigh of relief, hung up, and politely invited Mr. Lawson inside.
As he entered, he said to Emily, “Your boyfriend called.”
“No, no,” Emily waved her hand.
“No? Wasn’t that call for Xander?”
“…Ah, yes, but…”
Hearing their conversation, I broke out in a cold sweat.
“Mr. Lawson, please have a seat. Have you always been in MoonCloud Pack? When did Mr. Lawson return from MoonSunset Pack? Are your partner and daughter enjoying their stay?” I/quickly changed the subject.
Mr. Lawson’s attention shifted.
He looked kindly at me.
After sitting down, he said, “Darius will be back next week. I was supposed to leave last Saturday, but my partner has some business here, and I wanted to stay a couple of days longer.”
His gaze was fixed on me as he said “couple of days.”
“Sophia, go make some tea,” Emily said, unsettled by Mr. Lawson’s gaze.
“Ah, okay,” I went to the kitchen.
Emily sat down, seeing Mr. Lawson’s gaze follow me. She coughed lightly. “Mr. Lawson, I’m really surprised you came to my house. Is there something you need?”
“Oh, nothing. I happened to be in MoonCloud Pack, and I had nothing to do this morning, so I came to visit.”
Mr. Lawson was calm and composed.
He could make even nonsense sound reasonable. It was the habit of werewolves used to being in high positions.
Emily couldn’t retaliate.
She felt guilty, and even though he was insincere, the matriarch of the Lawson Family had been kind to her and her mother, giving them shelter and helping her go to university.
She soothed her wolf,” WE HAD TO ENDURE IT FOR MRS.LAWSON’S KINDNESS.”
Chauki 360
Tbrought out the tea and placed it before Mr. Lawson.
“Sophia, your mother calls you that. May 12” Mr. Lawson couldn’t hide his fondness for me.
“…Yes, of course,” I said politely, thinking, “This is crazy.*
“Sophia, what year were you born?” He asked Emily.
Emily, calmly replied,”1999.”
Mr. Lawson said, “Ah, what month?”
“April.”
