Emily’s POV

I could feel his eyes on me burning, but I kept my gaze fixed on the passing dark trees of our territory.

Nathan leaned closer, and his scent surrounded me. He touched my jaw with his thumb, sending a jolt through

I’m done fighting this,he murmured, his breath hot against the sensitive skin of my neck. Seeing you like this, hearing your heart race for meI can’t fight it anymore.

He pressed me against the seat. Tonight, after the ceremony, you will be mine. I’m taking what belongs to me.

A shiver ran down my spine, but I put my hand on his chest, keeping a little distance so I wouldn’t lose control. le slid his hand to the back of my neck, drawing me close to his face.

And tonight, Emily, everyone will know that you’re mine.

I held my breath. Was this what I’d been waiting for? Had the Alpha finally given in?

Nathan’s lips were inches from mine. I held my breath, wanting him to finish the movement.

Suddenly, the car stopped. We had arrived.

The door swung open. Oops, sorryI will open it a little later, said an embarrassed Blake.

Well, are you ready?Nathan asked.

I gave a silent nod.

He closed the distance between us, and I leaned forward instinctively, desperatebut Nathan moved to the lobe

f my ear and bit it gently.

Not yet, baby. Be patient,he whispered, then pulled away.

Seeing the disappointment on my face, he broke into a happy, boyish smile that was not typical for a serious lpha.

He stepped out and offered me his hand. I placed my palm into his large, tattooed hand.

As I looked up, the ceremony building took my breath away. It was massive, crafted from white marble and gold, owering toward the evening sky like a palace. Huge stone columns flanked the entrance, and the entire structure glowed brilliantly under thousands of lights.

I walked beside him as we headed inside. The driveway was crowded with guards and expensive cars carrying powerful Alphas.

Nathan didn’t just walk next to me; he claimed me. His hand rested firmly on my lower back, his presence so

When other Alphas stared at me, a low, vibrating growl from Nathan made them look away instantly. He was showing me off as his true Luna.

Inside, everything was luxurious. A huge crystal chandelier hung from the high ceiling, polished stone covered the floors, and gold and velvet decorated the walls.

I felt like I was floating, right up until I saw Stella.

She stood in the center of the hall in a shimmering gold dress that looked worth a fortune. She was laughing with

Council member, acting like the perfect Luna.

But as we got closer, her laughter faded. She looked me over, noticing my dark red dress, wild curls, and the

lefiance in my eyes.

Suddenly, her gold dress seemed cheap next to the bold look Jessie and Poppy had helped me create.

Her face went cold with anger. She saw the way Nathan looked at me and held me, and I knew she understood she

Nathan didn’t just walk with mehe showed me off. We moved from group to group, and with every introduction,

is grip on my waist tightened, making it clear to everyone that I was his.

Everyone, this is Emily, my future Luna,he said to the Alpha of the North Star pack. His voice was filled with a

ride I had never heard before.

He was so gentle with me, leaning in to whisper in my ear. Are you alright? Can I get you a drink? You look

mazing, but I don’t want you to get tired.

I smiled at him, my hand resting firmly in his. I’m perfect, Nathan. I don’t need anything but this.

For a few wonderful minutes, I really believed the nightmare was over.

Then his father and some senior Alphas came over, their faces serious. I could tell they had important pack usiness to discuss. They glanced at me, then at Nathan. I knew that lookthey were about to talk about things I

vasn’t meant to hear.

Emily,Nathan said, his voice softening as he turned to me. He looked almost pained as he pulled his hand away rom my waist. Go find my brother. We need him for this discussion. I’ll be right here waiting for you.

I nodded, happiness bubbling up inside me. I hurried across the room, eager to find Liam and tell him his plan had

worked and that we had won.

Liam! Liam!I tapped his shoulder, interrupting his conversation with two other wolves. I’m so sorry to steal him, but Nathan needs you.

I pulled him aside, my eyes burning with happy tears. Liam, it happened! He sees me. He’s treating me like I’m everything to him.

Liam grinned, his eyes widening with genuine relief. I saw it, little wolf. I’m so damn happy for-
