“How dare you lay a hand on me! Do you even know who I am? Come Friday when Wyatt finds out that we are mates, I will be the Luna here and I will make sure that you will never see the light of day again!” Samantha screeched.
I started laughing so hard I soon had tears falling from my face. Does this bitch actually think she will be Luna? Or even have a chance at beating me in a fight? This girl is crazy, power-hungry and stupid.
“What is going on here?” I heard a deep velvety voice ask. I tried drying my eyes and stood up as Wyatt walked closer to us.
“Samantha is under the impression you guys are mates and she can actually beat me in a fight” I managed to spit out from being out of breath.
“Samantha, tell me you did not just hit someone in the face who was not even looking at you?” Wyatt said unimpressed.
“I… No… She” Samantha sputtered.
“DON’T LIE TO ME! I saw you hit her in the face and she wasn’t even looking at you! Let’s try this again. Did you hit someone in the face that was not even paying attention?” Wyatt said.
“To be fair, it was a pretty pathetic punch. I won’t even have a bruise. Also, do not forget the part where she has decided she is Luna material, even though she takes the cowards way out and hits people when their backs are turned.” I said. I couldn’t help myself, fuck her. I don’t owe her anything. Thankfully, Wyatt’s lip twitched and he almost smiled, so I knew I wasn’t going to get into trouble.
“YOU BITCH!” Samantha screamed and lunged at me.
Wyatt managed to grab her around the waist and throw her against the wall. “ENOUGH!” He bellowed in his Alpha tone, causing Samantha to bend down and submit. “As punishment, you will clean out the waste buckets at the hospital and be on trash duty all week. Now go!” Samantha glared at me. If looks could kill, I would be six feet under. She slithered off down the stairs.
“Why must you always find trouble?” Wyatt asked me, amused.
“Why must you always be there to try to save me?” I countered.
“Well, you seem to be a magnet for trouble. I have been looking for you since the interrogations. Why did you run off and what did you find in the library?” Wyatt asked as he looked down at the books in my hands. Instinctively, I clutched them tighter to myself.
“Nothing worth mentioning really. Bedtime stories. Apparently, when someone breaks into your room and traumatizes you, you tend to have trouble falling asleep and need some help”. Not sure if I meant to be flirty, but I wouldn’t mind kissing more.
“Traumatizing, huh? I guess if the rough stuff is too much for you and you need something more delicate….” Wyatt trailed off as he stepped to the side and gestured for us to start walking.
“There is nothing delicate about me. I just wasn’t impressed.”
“Oh, I see. You need to be dominated.”
“Call it what you want, but blood has never scared me.”
Wyatt turned to look at me. His eyes were looking deep into my soul to try and figure me out. I felt like he was trying to see right through me. It was so intense I stopped walking. He started walking closer to me without breaking eye contact and soon I was backed up against the wall. It took all my willpower to not glance down at his lips. I stuck my tongue between my lips, licking them and opening my mouth slightly, causing him to glance down. He wanted to kiss me as much as I wanted him to.
“What are you afraid of”, Wyatt asked me.
I was so shocked by the question, I completely blinked a few times and sucked in quickly. There were so many answers to that question that the first thing that ran through my head was how alone I felt. I am afraid of being alone and unloved. But I couldn’t and wouldn’t say that. Surely, he meant it more sexual, so I blurted out, “Spiders mainly.”
Wyatt shook his head with a half smirk and half sadness on his face and backed away. “Not what I meant, princess.”
“I am not sure why you care?”
