Rolling over in bed, I was met with a warm sheet but no warm body. Groaning, I lifted my head and looked around for Wyatt. He was standing in the kitchenette pouring some coffee in a mug. He already had on jeans and a t-shirt.

“What time is it?” I asked as I yawned.

“7:30. I need to go to Reed’s office and finalize the attacks for tomorrow. We all have to be on the same page across the U.S. Take your time, but you do need to get up and get dressed so you can meet us down there as well. There is feedback from the video, and you also need to know what is going to happen tomorrow.”

“Ugh, okay. I’m getting up.” I said as I laid back down and covered my head up with the blanket. I heard Wyatt chuckle. Suddenly, the blanket was gone, and the cold air attacked my warm skin. “What the hell?”

“I said up, not back to bed!” Wyatt laughed. He came around and gave me a kiss on the forehead. “Take a shower and get dressed in something comfortable but nice. There will be a lot of people seeing you today. I love you!”

“Yeah, love you too” I said grumpily as I got up and started toward the shower. I heard the bedroom door open and close as I got to the shower and turned it on.

Showering quickly, I dried off and made my way to the closet. Hmm, what should I wear? I guess my signature leggings are not appropriate, so how about a cotton dress? It was all grey with buttons down the front. I paired them with basic white sneakers. My jewelry matched nicely with it and I braided my hair to the side. I kept my makeup light, making me look put together without doing too much.

“NINA?” I heard Kelly yell from the bedroom. I got up and ran to the bedroom to see Kelly standing there, dressed in a yellow sundress that was flowy. It had white daisies on it and she also had on white sneakers. Her hair was left down, and her makeup was more detailed but still looked perfect for her. “There you are! I was sent here to make sure you got out of bed and ready for the day!”

Rolling my eyes at her, “yeah, yeah. I am ready to go!” I said as I showed her my outfit with a twirl.

“I approve, now we need to get to the office.”

“You are in a hurry today?” I said questionly.

“More like I have Reed in my head nagging me. I swear, Nina, ever since he found out I am pregnant, he is on my ass about everything!”

Smiling, “He just cares about you!”

“A little too much caring!” Kelly said as we made our way to the office. “He could stand to relax a little on a few things. Like this morning! He had the nerve to ask me if it was okay for me to drink coffee! I was like dude, it’s decaf and fuck off!”

I was rolling laughing. Tears were coming down my face as we entered Reed’s office. Reed and Wyatt were there and saw my tears as I came into the room with Kelly in tow. Wyatt could feel I was happy, so he wasn’t concerned, but Reed was a different story.

“Oh crap! What is it? Is the baby okay? Kelly, are you okay? Come sit down right now!” Reed jumped up and ran to Kelly, almost knocking me out of the way.

“REED, I AM PERFECTLY FINE! BACK OFF!” Kelly shouted.

Reed looked at me for help, still seeing the tears. “Dude, I was laughing at Kelly, she is okay and honestly, you need to relax a little. That was a little much just now. If I felt better, you would have been electrocuted for touching me without me knowing.” I said as I made my way into the office and sat on Wyatt’s lap.

Reed rightfully looked ashamed, “I can’t help it. I just get so worried something will happen”,,, He said, throwing his hands up and letting them fall back down.

“Honey, it’s okay. Just try not to worry about every little thing. I can manage my body. I promise!” Kelly said, trying to reassure him. He nodded but still guided Kelly to the couch and made her comfortable. She rolled her eyes but let him take care of her. I think she liked to be pampered but didn’t want to admit it.

“Anyway, back to work at hand. There is a stack of papers for you to sign, Nina. Most of them are signing off on who will be where for the war, and some are documents I have drawn up stating what happened and why. Mostly, we need the paper trail for after. Some are requests from packs around asking for a variety of things. Don’t sign them yet. They are labeled at the end but do look through them. I know they are not the most important thing right now, but I have a feeling they will ask you when this is all over and I want you to have an idea of it so you’re not blindsided. We will go through each position with you, so you are aware too. Ready?” Wyatt said as he shoved a stack of papers my way.

This will be a long fucking day. “I need coffee and doughnuts!” I said eyeing the paperwork. “And an assistant for this shit.”

“Your assistant is right here!” Kelly said from the couch.

“Okay, assistant, take the request and put them into piles for me to look through!” I said pulling out the request and handing her 1/4th of the paperwork. She eyed it like she didn’t actually mean it, but it wouldn’t kill her to do something productive. I turned around and Reed and Wyatt were both just staring at me. I shrugged at them, and they both just nodded and kept going.

I picked up the first paper.

Location: Crooked Pine, Oregon at 2pm

Packs: Midnight Moon, Redwood and Eclipse Falls

Primary: 17 Miles East of Prineville, approx. 500 rouges, 157 women/children. Abandon prison

I read it out loud. “Yes, so that means the attack will happen at that address in Oregon. Those packs are the ones attacking there. How many approx. rouges and how many they have captured?” Reed said, he placed a blue flag on a pushpin and put the pushpin on a map of the U.S that I had just noticed was hanging on the wall. Looking at it, they have already done around 20 of these.

“Holy shit! How many more are there?” I asked, shocked.

“A couple. Now you see what we are doing. This is a massive organizational headache. Most people have been great and patient. I will scan these papers when we are finished and email them to all the Alphas, so they know their target.”

“A lot of blood will be spilled” I said, just staring at all the blue. “And a lot of lives will be saved.”
