Devin stopped clapping his hands and started walking forward, shaking his head while smiling. “Congratulations! You found my resort! I have some nice, fresh woman that might entice you, Wyatt?” He said with a very amused look in his eyes. There was still a hint of darkness behind them though. Raven could see the darkness swirling around him. “No? Well, you are more than welcome to come get me, if you can!”
Devin steered right and before anyone could react, he started walking on the wolfsbane laced grass. Everyone gasped out in shock as it seemed not to affect him. “You see, I too have friends. My friends are…special kinds of friends.”
“Witches make trades, not friendships” Raven said out loud, shocking everyone that she could speak. Her voice was soft and delicate but full of power and authority. A few people took steps away from her and some instantly bowed.
Devin nodded his head and pointed his finger at her. “You are exactly right! They do make trades. I have been drinking a potion that keeps wolfsbane from hurting me. So, if any of you try to touch me, you will be drugged, so, technically, I am untouchable!” Devin laughed.
“And where are your friends at?” Raven asked.
“Well, since I really don’t care at the moment, Grant had laced our drinks, so I repaid the favor to him. Mason is on the floor, might want to check on him and Grant, well, I am not sure if he is alive or not.” Devin said. shrugging. Raven looked at Justin, Maverick and a few other warriors went inside to look at everything. Devin’s warriors were circled around us but kept on looking at him for help. They had to follow his orders, but they also recognized Raven as their queen. “Also, since I will find this entertaining, I had one other potion made for me. However, I wanted to share this one. The witch made a potion that will keep my warriors from you, forcing them to bend to your will. Your aura will do something for them.” At this, the warriors stood straighter, and their growls became more threatening.
“And that’s fine, Devin, but you unfortunately don’t have all the information,” Raven said as she took a step onto the grass and started walking toward him. A collective gasp and the wide eyes of Devin told her that they had no idea she was immune to it. “Wolfsbane, also, does not bother me. I am your true queen, and I will be sitting on top when this is over. Listen to me know, you have to choose which side you are on. I am giving you a chance to come to our side and live. Those who don’t… die” Raven said, loud enough that everyone heard. Everyone was looking around and waiting to see if anyone would move. Devin’s eyes grew dark and unleashed a threatening growl at his warriors in response. “So be it.” Raven said, and she unleashed the force within. It was so powerful that it went off in a huge wave, causing the enemy to be thrown off their feet. It gave us the advantage.
“ATTACK!” Wyatt said and took off to help his warriors. I had been feeling each death that was happening around the U.S. The numbers were staggering but I tried to stay focused, watching Raven take down Devin.
She stalked him like a lion does his prey. Devin shifted into his wolf, which was smaller than Raven but was thick with muscles. I felt Raven bring the electricity to the surface and my whole body was sending off little blue sparks as she walked to him. It caused him to pause for a second and look at them before he decided it was not anything to be concerned about.
Devin lunged at Raven, a straight on attack. Raven, at the last minute, swerved to miss him but he anticipated it landing a blow to Raven’s side. However, as soon as his fist made contact with her side, his whole body was vibrating as it was being electrocuted. Raven let it go on for a few more seconds before stopping it. Devin laid there in a pool of his own piss, breathing heavily while glaring at her. Raven didn’t even wait before punching him square in the face, breaking his nose and causing him to pass out.
Standing up, using every ounce of authority in her voice, Raven yelled, “STOP”. The battle before her was bloody. Everyone was covered, wolves were either dead or wounded. Every injury and death were a stab to Raven’s heart. “Stop, it is time to stop. Put them in cuffs, collect the women and child. Let’s go home!” Raven made her way to the woods and changed back into her body.
Raven then grabbed Devin by the collar and drug him off the grass and to the driveway. Wyatt had emerged from the house covered in blood. He came rushing to Raven. “Grant lost a lot of blood, but we got him stable. We need to get him to a hospital!”
“How many women and children are there?” Raven asked. If Grant died, it would be tragic, but so is every other life we have lost so far.
“26, they are getting clothes and will be out in a few minutes. The female warriors are helping them now.”
“Good, start taking the prisoners that lived on the ship.” Raven said, and made her way to the women and children.
“Wait!” Wyatt said and went back over to Raven. “Is Nina okay?”
