Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 634

Sylvia was staring at her movie ticket when, suddenly, the heroine on the screen let out a blood-curdling scream. Startled, Sylvia’s hand jerked and her phone slipped right out of her grip.

The screen went black in an instant.

Of course, it had to land right next to the person sitting beside her.

Keeping her voice low and apologetic, Sylvia whispered, “Sorry—could you move your foot a bit? My phone just fell. I’ll be quick.”

The person didn’t answer, but those long legs shuffled awkwardly to the side.

Sylvia didn’t waste any time. She crouched down to feel for her phone.

But the theater was pitch dark, and her hand fumbled blindly across the sticky popcorn-crusted floor—only to land on someone’s shoe.

Mortified, she kept her gaze glued to the floor, praying she could just disappear.

Suddenly, the other person shifted, leaning closer. “Want some help?” a low voice murmured.

At the sound, Sylvia’s head snapped up.

His face was caught in flickers of light and shadow from the screen, but those deep-set eyes were unforgettable.

Rupert.

“You—!” she blurted, her hand shooting up to push him away, only to bump her elbow on the seat in front.

The person in front turned, giving them both a withering look and a loud, disapproving “Geez, can’t afford a motel? Gotta get frisky in a theater?”

Only then did Sylvia realize just how compromising their position looked.

She scrambled upright, but in her haste, managed to block the view of the person behind her.

“Hey! Sit down, will you? Nearly jumped outta my skin,” the guy behind complained.

Sylvia flustered, and Rupert gently grabbed her by the waist, guiding her back into her seat.

She shot him a furious glare and hissed, “Are you following me?”

Rupert propped his chin on his hand, turning slightly toward her. “Yeah.”

“…”

Unbelievable.

How was he so shameless about it? He used to at least make up some excuse!

Sylvia was at a loss for words. She gave up on finding her phone and turned away, determined to ignore him and focus on the movie.

But Rupert didn’t budge. He just kept staring at her.

Worse, his leg kept inching closer, forcing her to keep sliding away.

Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore. “Would you please move your leg?”
