Sylvia laughed instead of getting angry. "If that's the case, why didn't the Sanford family want a perfectly healthy woman from a good background like you?"
"You! What gives you the right to be so arrogant? You and Mr. Sanford are only a temporary fling. Do you really think you can join the Sanford family?" Fay scoffed.
Sylvia stared at Fay, considering her words for a few seconds before leaning in to whisper, "Maybe I can't, but I know you definitely can't."
Without explaining further, she picked up her bags, said goodbye to her former colleagues, and left.
Unable to figure out what Sylvia meant, Fay chased after her.
"Sylvia, stop right there! Make yourself clear! Why do you think I can't be with Mr. Sanford?"
Mimicking Fay's earlier expression, Sylvia feigned surprise. "So you really didn't know?"
"Know what?" Fay demanded, irritably grabbing Sylvia's bag.
"You're so certain you can marry Mr. Sanford just because Ms. Winslet is helping you, right? But I heard from Lester that Tristan wants to set him up with a distant relative of the Garcia family. Do you think Ms. Winslet would dare to go against Tristan?"
"Impossible!" Fay immediately denied it.
"Then during all this time I've been injured, has Ms. Winslet given you any actual, substantial help?" Sylvia pressed.
"..."
Fay froze in place.
Sylvia yanked her bag back and walked away without looking back.
However, she didn't go far. After walking out of Eloise Design Studio, she turned around to watch Fay.
Right on cue, Fay immediately pulled out her phone to make a call.
She was probably contacting Kay.
Since they refused to let her live in peace, she would make sure none of them had a moment's rest either.
Fay might not be the brightest, but she was certainly no pushover.
Moreover, with the Langley family's background, Kay wouldn't dare offend her openly.
Seeing Fay's expression turn increasingly ugly as she spoke on the phone, Sylvia turned and left with a satisfied smile.
...
"Ms. Winslet, what do you mean? Are you burning bridges? You explicitly promised that once you dealt with Sylvia, you'd let me be with Mr. Sanford!" Fay complained.
