Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 660

Their raised voices had already startled the patients receiving physical therapy near the front of the room.

Several people had turned around to stare.

Sylvia put some distance between them, refusing to look at Rupert any longer.

Rupert took in her cold detachment, the obsessive fire in his eyes dimming into pitch black. "I'll wait for you outside."

He stood up and walked away.

Sylvia's voice rang out behind him once more. "Mr. Rupert, could you just leave? As far away as possible. I truly don't want to see you."

Rupert paused for a second before continuing his departure.

His retreating back radiated an absolute, deathly stillness.

An hour later, Sylvia's session concluded.

Just as she stood up, a hand reached out and took her bag.

"I'm sorry I'm late," Lester said, looking at her apologetically.

"It's fine. Is Ms. Rayner doing better?"

"You know her?" Lester immediately caught onto the implications.

Sylvia didn't try to hide anything, relaying the story of how she had bumped into Sienna at the supermarket to Lester.

Lester furrowed his brow. "Her... situation is rather unique. Try to steer clear of her in the future."

"Is she working for Tristan?" Sylvia asked, carefully studying his expression.

Lester didn't answer directly, but the look on his face confirmed everything.

"Is Tristan trying to play matchmaker for the two of you?" Sylvia probed.

"Don't worry, I have zero interest in her," Lester said, raising his hand as if to swear an oath.

Sylvia quickly pulled his hand back down, pondering for a moment before she spoke. "I trust you. But there's one thing I need to ask—does he know about this?"

Him, meaning Rupert.

Lester hesitated, then nodded. "He knows."

Sylvia let out a cold scoff.

Rupert knew full well that Lester was with her, yet he actually gave his tacit approval to Tristan's scheming.

She lowered her eyes frostily. "Let's go."
