Encore of the Avenging Muse (Sylvia and Rupert) novel Chapter 670

Rupert Garcia's kiss landed heavily, brimming with fierce possessiveness.

Sylvia Lloyd struggled with all her might, but the man before her remained an immovable wall, pressing his advantage even further.

As he ruthlessly parted her lips, she raised her hands to fight him off. Instead, he caught both her wrists in a single, iron grip and pinned them high above her head.

A sharp click echoed in the room.

Her back slammed into the light switch, plunging the entire space into darkness.

The only illumination came from the flickering city lights outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long, tangled shadows of their bodies.

Sylvia's wrists went numb, but before she could even catch her breath, he swept her off her feet.

A wave of humiliation fueled her desperate resistance, causing her to accidentally bump her injured hand.

"Ah!" she gasped.

She let out a soft groan of pain, but the sound was instantly swallowed by his mouth.

Tears of grievance and shame welled up in her eyes, making her look agonizingly enticing under the shifting neon glow of the skyscrapers outside.

Rupert's breath hitched. He pulled back slightly, his dark gaze locked onto her, and lifted his free hand to wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.

Sylvia jerked her face away from his touch, her voice shaking with anger. "Let me go!"

Silence hung in the air.

The pausing city lights caught Rupert's face. His usually aloof, handsome features were now twisted with a terrifying, obsessive intensity.

In his dark eyes, a consuming desire teetered dangerously on the edge of reason.

In a flash, Sylvia remembered that one insane night from their past.

Rupert had been drugged.

She thrashed even harder. "Get away! Don't touch me!"

Rupert stared at her, his Adam's apple bobbing sharply. "Why can't I?" he demanded, his voice thick and raspy. "Why can't I? You clearly care about me!"

"I don't! I don't care about you at all!" Sylvia yelled, turning her head away.

Even though they were the only two in the room, she screamed as if trying to convince the whole world.

"Liar. You forgot me? Then what did you just call me? Uncle Rupert? Do you have any idea that you slip up every time you panic?" He lowered his head, resting his forehead against hers. "Hmm?"

His voice was low and dangerous, his hot breath brushing against her skin, sending her heart into a frantic, hammering rhythm.

She frowned, unable to fully open her eyes. Through blurred vision, she could only make out the silhouette of a woman cleaning up the aftermath.

But she recognized the faint perfume lingering in the air.

Sienna Rayner.

When Sylvia tried to sit up, a sharp pain shot through her, sending her collapsing straight into Sienna's arms.

Sienna gritted her teeth and supported Sylvia's weight. "I play the fairy godmother, and I'm the one who gets screwed over," she scoffed.

Stepping out through the concealed door, she kicked the unconscious Fay Langley on the floor just to vent her frustration.

Fay had no idea that every single move she made had been under Sienna's watchful eye.

Even worse, she didn't realize that Kay Winslet had never intended to help her in the first place.

She would be left entirely defenseless, with no one willing to stand by her side.

Even if Rupert investigated the incident later, the trail would end squarely with Fay.
