Sylvia sat there stunned. When she looked up, she met a pair of eyes harboring profound, desolate sorrow.

She had once seen that exact same look in Rupert's eyes.

In her daze, Sienna suddenly tipped Sylvia's chin up.

"Tristan secretly dragged my mother back into the country. He was the one who approached me with a deal. If he helped me rescue my mother, I would play along with Lester and pull the wool over everyone's eyes."

"I truly admired him for being willing to work with me. That is, until I saw you."

Sylvia felt a sharp pinch on her jaw. She was about to pull away, but then she saw Sienna pick up the gun again.

Instantly, she froze.

She knew exactly how agonizing death was, and she didn't want to die. All she could do was stall for time.

Keeping her head tilted up, she asked carefully, "Why?"

Sienna let out a cold scoff. "Because years ago, the woman Edwin and the others caught sleeping with Tristan in his office was my mother."

"Can you believe he was willing to negotiate with me just for you? He even agreed to give my mother and me a massive sum of money afterward so we could live abroad."

"He even had me come here to clear up the misunderstanding between you and Lester. You really are his weakness. If anyone uses you against him, he's doomed. No wonder Tristan refuses to let you go."

"No!" Sylvia shouted back. "You're talking nonsense! Did he send you? I don't believe a word you're saying! Let me make this clear: I have absolutely nothing to do with the Garcia family anymore!"

Sienna let go of Sylvia, mocking her naïveté.

"Do you honestly think saying you have nothing to do with them means they'll just leave you alone?"
