Adrian reluctantly turned around, but then suddenly froze.

Blake frowned. “Come on, what are you standing there for?”

Adrian hesitated. “Look over there… Doesn’t that look like a person““.

Henry’s expression sharpened as he quickly looked in that direction.

Sure enough, at the corner not too far away, there seemed to be someone wearing a black cloak.

The cloak hid the person’s face and build, making it impossible to tell who it was. Their walk was slow and

a

bit stiff, but overall didn’t look much different from a normal person.

Is that… a living human?

The group exchanged glances. In a situation like this, anything unusual was suspicious.

“Should we… ask?” Adrian called out, gathering his courage. “Hey! Who are you?!”

Tim wanted to stop him, but it was too late.

All he could do was stay on guard, staring closely at the figure.

Sure enough, the cloaked figure stopped and slowly turned their head toward them.

“They can understand me,” Adrian said excitedly. “Looks like a person. Let’s go check it out. There aren’t any zombies around here; maybe he’s a survivor from around here!”

The others hadn’t moved yet, but the person had already started walking toward them.

Their steps looked completely natural. Under the cloak, part of their chin was visible, fong with their hands and calves. Their skin looked intact–smooth, pale, and healthy–not like the rotting skin of a

zombie.

Seeing this, Tim and the others relaxed a little.

Maybe it really was a survivor hiding nearby.

Henry narrowed his eyes.

Something feels off…

Even though everything about this person–from their movements to their skin—looked normal, he still couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling in his gut.
