Chapter 233 Greed Unmasked
The group in the comct had een complaining nonstop, but the inouent they heard her words, the same people who had just sworn they would never let anyone implant a chip into their bodies for a bag of rice immediately ditched their companions and rushed over as fast as they could
“Me, me, me! I’m willing to stay in Outerville. Go ahead and implant the chip in me!”
They moved with incredible enthusiasm.
The people who had been standing with them were completely stunner!
Wow. They had seen people stab others in the back before, but never right in front of them like this.
What happened to sticking together?
The rest of them refused to fall behind and all ran forward as well. “Me too! I’m willing too!”
The area in front of the ice wall quickly filled up again.
“Noah, look. What are they doing over there?”
In an unnoticed corner, Zelda cautiously peeked her head out. Standing next to her was a man, none other than Noah.
But now both of them were filthy, covered in dirt, and their bodies were full of bruises and wounds, making them look especially miserable.
After being driven back to Outerville, the two of them had been relentlessly targeted by the residents there.
People were naturally good at kicking others when they were down. Seeing former Centerville residents, who had once been above them, fall into such a pitiful state, they took pleasure in it.
So in just a single day, the two of them had already suffered inhumane treatment.
Suddenly noticing something, Zelda became excited. “Noah, look! Look! Those people are holding rice! Every single one of them has a bag of rice!”
That was white, polished rice!
Everyone was carrying a full bag. She couldn’t even remember the last time she had eaten a hot bod rice. She had almost forgotten what it tasted like.
Something that used to be a luxury was now appearing everywhere, held in everyone’s arms. How could
she not be excited?
Her voice grew a little too loud. Noah raised his hand and, without hesitation, slapped her across the face.
“Shut the hell up! You stupid woman! I’ve got eyes, don’t I? You think I can’t see for myself? Do you have to shout about it? Don’t you realize that being this loud will draw attention to us?”

The stapesen Zelda crashing against the wall, her vision spinning.
But this time, she didn’t giher arguing.
15 Pears
She shook her dizzy head hard, then grabbed a passerby and asked eagerl “Y-your rice… where did you get it”
The person hadn’t expected someone so filthy to suddenly jump out from the corner. He was clearly startled. Looking down, he saw a dirty handprint on his clothes.
He felt annoyed, but since he had just gotten a free bag of rice and was in a good mood, he didn’t argue with Zelda. Instead, he said impatiently, “Why don’t you go see for yourself? What are your eyes for? If you’re this slow, you won’t even catch leftovers.”
After saying that, he stormed off.
and
Zelda was furious at his attitude, but she had still gotten one important piece of information from what he said.
All of their rice had come from Linden Plaza.
She snorted. “I’ll go see for myself.”
Just as she was about to move forward, she felt someone grab her.
Noah pulled her behind him, his eyes full of eagerness. “Stay here. I’ll go check it out.”
Zelda immediately flew into a rage. “You worthless freeloader! When I was the one asking around, where were you hiding? Now that I got the answer, you’re suddenly so eager. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You just want to go get that bag of rice before I do!”
Having his thoughts exposed, Noah became furious and kicked her hard in the chest. “Shut up! You’re the worthless one. If you hadn’t provoked Robin, would we have ended up like this? This is all your fault! So what if I want to get the rice for myself? If I don’t take it, should I let you have it? Look at yourself. What are you even worth? Damn.”
Noah didn’t hold back at all with that kick. Zelda was already injured, so she collapsed to the ground instantly, unable to catch her breath.
ľ
She curled up in pain, but Noah didn’t even spare her a glance. He spat on her, stepped over her body, and walked toward Linden Plaza with anticipation.
Rice. White, polished rice…
I’m coming.
There were still a lot of people at Linden Plaza. Noah struggled to push through the crowd, which quickly
drew the dissatisfaction of others.
“Hey, get in line! What are you doing? Everyone else is lining up. You think you’re special or something?!”
