They’d been at the base for years, but they’d never seen all the senior leaders out on the stre at once, barely hiding their excitement as if something major were about to happen.
Outside the gate, Steve felt a little nervous.
We brought this many people here without clearing it with the higher–ups. Stuart’s definitely going to g chewed out, right?
Before he could think any further, the gate opened and a huge crowd poured out of the base
Steve froze. “Wait, what’s going on? Are they coming to throw us out? Or are they here to deal with us?”
Nearly every senior member of the base had come out!
“Ms… Ms. Neel.”
Steve stammered. “Maybe… we’d better move farther away…”
He knew Robin was very powerful.
But the people walking toward them were among the strongest fighters in all of Northreach Base!
If they all attack at once, there’s no way Robin can handle them…
“What’s wrong?” Robin asked.
Steve swallowed. “They don’t look very friendly…”
Jilliane strode forward in a white lab coat, hands in her pockets and chin high.
“Jilliane.”
Steve greeted her at once.
Jilliane gave him a cool glance, then looked past him at Robin and the others and asked flatly, “Who owns the armored vehicles?”
Robin’s lips curled into a smile, but she didn’t speak.
Steve jumped in. “Jilliane, this is Ms. Robin Neel. The armored vehicles belong to her.”
“They’re yours?”

Jilliane looked at Robin in surprise. “Where did you get armored vehicles that large?” Robin smiled faintly. “None of your business.”
“You!”
Jilliane snapped, “Who do you think you are? I’m not even allowed to ask?”
“Oh.”
Robin drew out the word, giving her a dismissive look. “Not if you’re going to talk to me like that.”
“You’re unbelievably arrogant!”
Jilliane bristled. “This is Northreach Base!”
Robin corrected her. “The front gate, actually.”
Robin stretched, then turned as if to leave. “Forget it. Maybe they don’t actually want us here. Then there’s no point bending over backward for people who clearly don’t want us around.”
“Wait, wait!”
The people behind Jilliane panicked and rushed forward to stop her.
Stuart really hadn’t been exaggerating. This woman was impossible to handle with either flattery or pressure!
Anyone else would’ve exchanged a few polite words after coming all this way. They certainly wouldn’t have turned around and left on the spot!
But Robin didn’t play by anyone else’s rules.
“Ms. Neel, please wait!”
Someone stepped into her path with a polite smile. “Ms. Neel, please don’t be angry. You’ve already come all this way. Jilliane has always been like this. She speaks before she thinks, so please don’t take it personally…”
Robin laughed. “Now you’re all acting like this had nothing to do with you. Why do you think she spoke to me like that? Didn’t all of you plan this in advance?”
The person froze. “What do
you mean…?”
Steve rubbed his forehead.
Chapter 482 A Setup Exposed
Even Steve had seen through it, and Robin was far sharper than he was.
Robin said, “Let me guess. Since all of you rushed over together, Stuart must’ve made the situation perfectly clear.
