End of the World? I'm the Boss novel Chapter 489

Chapter 489 Hidden Rules

The little girl looked to be only 12 or 13 years old. She stared at them in panic and said instinctively, “I didn’t see anything! Please let me go! I really didn’t see anything!”

Dylan smiled slightly. “What exactly are you not supposed to see here?”

His question immediately hit the key point.

“I…”

The girl squirmed uncomfortably in Monica’s grip. Monica loosened her hand a little, and the girl immediately tried to run.

Monica gave a faint smile. “And where do you think you’re going?”

Ivan didn’t even see her move clearly. In the next second, Monica was already beside the girl again, grabbing her collar. “I ask a question, you answer it honestly. We’re not zombies. We don’t eat people. Wh do you keep trying to run?”

The girl froze. Monica was too fast. This time, she didn’t struggle anymore. She just lowered her head and said in fear, “I really didn’t see anything. I won’t tell anyone about you. Please let me go. I promise I won’t say a word…”

‘What exactly won’t you tell anyone?” Ella asked.

The girl looked surprised. “You don’t know?”

Dylan said calmly, “Whether we know or not is one thing. But what you promise not to say is another. You should at least tell us what you’re promising to keep secret.”

The girl swallowed nervously. “You… You flew a helicopter without permission?”

Robin and Dylan exchanged a look.

So Kapitol didn’t allow private helicopter use, or at least restricted air travel from above.

Dylan continued, “Then?”

The girl shrank her neck. “And are you hiding your real strength from the higher-ups?”

That confirmed it. Kapitol clearly had strict control over ability users. They must have conducted large- scale registration and were monitoring all ability users in the region.

Dylan said nothing.

The girl’s eyes widened, on the verge of tears. “That’s… That’s all I know…”

She didn’t seem dangerous.

Robin relaxed slightly and curved her lips. “This is the outskirts of Kapitol. Are you living here alone?”

Chapter 489 Fidden Rules

The girl’s eyes Bickered with panic. “Yes…”

“Liar.”

Firested

Robin crouched down and looked straight into her eyes. “I don’t sense any ability fluctuations from you. You’re just an ordinary person. There are so many zombies around here. If you’re alone, how are you surviving?”

The girl stammered, “Can… Can you please stop asking? I already promised I wouldn’t say anything…”

‘You promised not to say anything, but that doesn’t mean the people you were with won’t talk.”

The moment she said that, the girl suddenly lifted her head. “They won’t say anything either!”

Robin smiled faintly. “Didn’t you just say you were alone?”

The girl froze. Realizing she had been tricked, she quickly covered her mouth. “You…”

Robin chuckled. “Don’t worry. What’s your name?”

‘Hannah Ingham.”

‘Hannah?” Robin gently patted her head as she looked at the girl’s fearful eyes. “Fine. I’ll be honest with you. We’re not from Kapitol. We came from somewhere else. Even if you didn’t say anything, we would’ve figured it out anyway. There should be a base nearby, right?”

Hannah stared at her in shock.

‘Take me to your base,” Robin said.

Kapitol clearly had many hidden rules. They had just arrived, and it was easy to accidentally break them.

Robin wasn’t someone who was afraid of trouble, but unnecessary trouble was still trouble.

Hannah was too young. She probably didn’t understand everything. But there were definitely adults behind her.

Robin wanted to talk to them.

More importantly, Hannah had already said that private helicopter use might be forbidden in Kapitol. Even if Hannah promised not to tell anyone, that didn’t mean others wouldn’t report it. She needed to handle that risk early.

‘You… You can’t go…” Hannah started crying, looking like she was the one being bullied. “You’ll ruin their plan!”

“Whose plan?” Elta asked.

Hannah shook her head. “Not the base. My team. It’s our turn to go out for supplies today. I was supposed to be the bait to lure the zombies away. But then you showed up and messed everything up…”
