Time was slipping away from her. Every moment she delayed, her pregnancy would become more obvious, making it nearly impossible to alter the due date later on.
As Jasper stepped outside, she quickly masked her emotions and, with a mix of nervousness and fear, asked, “Jasper, am I… sick?”
He studied her intently before responding, “It’s nothing serious. You just need to rest properly.”
She shook her head firmly. “I don’t want to rest, Jasper. I just want to be by your side.”
Her eyes glistened with a profound love and devotion.
Though he harbored doubts deep within, in this moment, he still trusted that she was the one who had saved him, who had given him everything. He couldn’t simply abandon her.
“I’ll stay with you,” he promised.
She hesitated for a moment, then said softly, “Then I want to go somewhere. Will you come with me?”
“Of course,” he answered without hesitation.
Neither of them realized that this seemingly simple agreement would soon spiral into a devastating catastrophe.
Jasper put off his official responsibilities and accompanied Bianca to a remote location.
They arrived at a secluded mountain villa nestled deep in the wilderness. Surrounded by towering pines and the crisp, fresh air, it was an ideal place for rest and recovery.
Bianca had insisted on a quiet environment with minimal security, wanting peace and solitude.
Jasper indulged her wishes, bringing only two bodyguards along while the rest stayed behind at the base of the mountain.
Unbeknownst to them, someone had already infiltrated the villa ahead of their arrival.
Meanwhile, Tatiana was gripped by a sudden, sharp pain in her chest.
She clutched her heart, her breaths coming in quick, shallow gasps.
“Cindy, what’s wrong? Where does it hurt?” Jaime asked anxiously, her voice heavy with concern.
“I’m fine,” Cindy replied, shaking her head weakly. “Just take your medicine quickly. Have you been taking it on time while I’ve been away?”
Jaime looked away, guilt flickering across her face. “Of course, I’ve been careful. I remember everything you told me. I’m not lying.”

Cindy believed her.
Over the past few days, she had been overwhelmed with caring for her grandfather and managing the complications of her new identity. She had struggled to find even one day to return and check on Jaime.
The house was in disarray, clutter piled in every corner, and the air felt thick and stale.
Determined, she rolled up her sleeves, tied on an apron, and pulled a mask over her face before starting the cleanup.
Jaime quickly stepped forward, trying to stop her. “No, no, let me handle this. Your new clothes look so nice—you shouldn’t ruin them!”
Cindy glanced down at the dress her grandfather had carefully chosen for her. It was elegant but entirely unsuitable for manual labor.
“Alright, then I’ll change,” she said.
Ignoring her grandmother’s protests, she immediately slipped out of the dress and back into her old, worn clothes, foregoing the apron entirely as she dove back into cleaning.
Unable to persuade her otherwise, Jaime watched silently, tears welling in her eyes. She turned away, wiping them quickly.
If this had happened before, Cindy might have wished to terminate the pregnancy. But now, she desperately wanted this child to live—to hold onto the one connection bound by blood.
“Doctor, please, I beg you, save my baby,” she pleaded, clutching the doctor’s sleeve, her eyes wide with panic and desperation.
“Notify the family immediately!” the doctor ordered.
As the newly recognized young lady of the Jackson family, her closest relatives were Barry and Marilyn.
When Barry heard the news, fury erupted within him. He quickly suppressed the information, making sure the elderly patriarch remained unaware.
Slamming his fist on the table, he roared, “Minnie’s engagement banquet is tomorrow night! Nothing can go wrong! The Jackson family cannot afford another scandal!”
Marilyn hesitated. “Whose child is she carrying?”
“I don’t care whose it is!” Barry snapped. “She’s part of this family now, and she must follow the rules. We cannot have a scandal like an out-of-wedlock pregnancy. If it’s a miscarriage, then so be it. We won’t keep an illegitimate child with no status.”
Barry’s decision was final: the pregnancy must be terminated, and the baby would not be saved.
Marilyn’s heart ached. “It’s a life. We shouldn’t be so quick to decide, especially since Cindy wants to keep it.”
“That’s not her choice to make,” Barry said coldly.
Though Marilyn didn’t argue further, a seed of doubt took root in her heart. She feared she might regret this decision someday.
After a moment of hesitation, she quietly called Jasper, hoping to hear his thoughts.
But his phone went unanswered.
Reluctantly, she followed her husband’s orders and instructed the hospital to proceed with the termination as soon as possible.
The doctor prepared to wheel Cindy into the operating room.
Tatiana, barely conscious from the pain, sensed something was wrong. Struggling to sit up, she whispered hoarsely, “Doctor… are you going to save my baby?”
