Even in Darkness She Chose to Rise (Tatiana and Jasper) novel Chapter 144

**Even the Night Couldn’t Silence Her Light**
**Chapter 144: The Announcement of Pregnancy**

Marilyn’s grip faltered, and the delicate cup slipped from her fingers, shattering on the floor. Her voice, sharp and filled with disbelief, pierced the air: “Bian—pregnant?”

The revelation of Bianca’s pregnancy detonated within the Jackson family like a bombshell, leaving everyone in a state of shock and confusion.

Marilyn, in particular, was a bundle of nerves. The weight of the news settled heavily on her shoulders, and without a moment’s hesitation, she called for the most esteemed obstetrician available to confirm the pregnancy. The uncertainty surrounding the calculated due date gnawed at her, raising unsettling questions.

“Jasper,” she said, her voice trembling slightly, “are you absolutely certain this child belongs to you? The dates suggest otherwise, falling before your marriage.”

Jasper’s mind raced, momentarily clouded by doubt, but then his resolve crystallized. He nodded solemnly, “It was an accident that night.”

That night, the one etched in his memory, was undeniably linked to Bianca. Therefore, the child growing within her was, without a doubt, his own. This realization anchored itself firmly in his consciousness, an unshakeable truth that he couldn’t deny.

Observing his unwavering certainty, Marilyn’s doubts began to dissipate, replaced by a wave of elation. “Regardless of the circumstances, this is your first child. You must be extra cautious. Bianca’s health has always been delicate, and this pregnancy could pose challenges. You must take great care of her.”

“Mn,” Jasper replied, his tone flat and devoid of the enthusiasm one might expect from an expectant father.

Marilyn noted his lack of excitement but chose not to dwell on it. She understood that men often took time to process such monumental changes; their emotions often blossomed only after the baby arrived.

After entrusting Bianca to his mother’s care, Jasper prepared to depart. Just then, Bianca reached out, her hand clutching his sleeve with desperation, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Jasper, can you please stay with me a little longer?”

His response was curt, almost cold, “Let go.”

The warmth and affection he once exuded towards her had vanished, replaced by a distant, almost unfamiliar demeanor. It felt as though he was addressing a stranger rather than the woman carrying his child.

If it weren’t for the life growing inside her, Bianca mused bitterly, she might not even have the right to stand beside him in this moment.

With a mix of anger and frustration boiling within her, she reluctantly released his sleeve, feeling a surge of emotions that she dared not express. She didn’t want to create a scene; the last thing she needed was to draw more attention to herself.

Baron’s hypnosis had worked only partially, managing to alter her identity to mirror that of the woman from that fateful night, but it hadn’t transformed her memories.

She vividly recalled the moment she had implored Baron to completely rewrite Jasper’s memories, only to be met with a dismissive scoff. “Do you truly think I possess divine powers? A man like Jasper has a will of iron. I can only divert his perception of events, not rewrite history itself.”

In a fit of panic, she had screamed, “He knows I’m not the person from four years ago! He knows I lied to him! He’ll kill me!”

Baron had merely shrugged, “Why fear? There’s no solid proof. Just maintain your story, and remember, you’re carrying ‘his child.’ He won’t harm you.”

When Jasper eventually awoke, he accepted the fabricated reality Baron had crafted for her. He believed her to be the woman from that night, and the timeline for the baby now aligned perfectly.

Yet, despite this newfound understanding, Jasper’s gaze lacked the warmth it once held. Their relationship had transformed into something awkward, leaving Bianca feeling isolated and reliant solely on the child she carried.

Jasper turned away, his steps resolute and unyielding.

Meanwhile, Tatiana slowly emerged from her bed, her movements cautious and unsteady. Her body felt feeble, and she nearly stumbled.

If they could so easily discard a daughter they had raised for twenty years, what chance did she stand as an ‘orphan of a former acquaintance’?

“So they really are looking for you? How dramatic! Are you a runaway lady? I see that plot unfold on TV all the time: a lady flees with her child, or a president regrets his marriage, or twins appear four years later…”

Dreame’s wild speculations grew increasingly absurd.

Tatiana’s initial anxiety morphed into helplessness as she shook her head.

“No, it’s not like that at all.”

She took a deep breath and explained her complicated situation.

As expected, Dreame’s expression softened with sympathy. “If you return, you won’t be able to keep the baby.”

Tatiana’s face went pale, and tremors coursed through her body at the thought.

However, Dreame’s tone shifted abruptly. “But I can help you.”

Tatiana looked up slowly, a glimmer of hope igniting in her eyes.

“I have a method to help you conceal your pregnancy so that it doesn’t become evident. But this solution is temporary, lasting only a month. After that, you will face significant challenges. Are you willing to try?”
