Chapter 358 The Trap and the Trace
“Then… ten thousand?”
白
Tatiana’s expression soured. A ten–thousand–dollar jacket? It was just a scrap of fabric!
“Wrong. One million. How exactly do you plan to pay for that?”
She couldn’t help but gasp. One million?

Damn it! Every prisoner on their entire ship combined wouldn’t fetch that much. Was a piece clothing really worth that?
Norman, seeing the little server was clearly out of her depth, decided to lean into the joke. “Can’t afford it? Perhaps you should pay with your body instead? Though, with your looks…”
Before the words ‘he probably wouldn’t want someone so ugly‘ could leave his mouth, two voices spoke in perfect unison.
“Fine.”
“Impossible!”
Tatiana’s face went cold, her eyes blazing with fury as she glared at Jasper. What a lecher! To Tatiana’s face went cold, her eyes blazing with fury as demand a woman “pay with her body” so casually–he was clearly a piece of work.
She must have been blind a moment ago to think he was her type.
Even Norman was stunned, looking at Jasper in disbelief. “Jasper, are you serious?”
Jasper’s gaze remained fixed on Tatiana, unblinking. “What is your name?”
Repulsed, she gave a reluctant, curt reply: “Jennie.”
A name so fake it was painful.
Jasper let out a soft, low laugh. “Jennie. Room 1198, ten o’clock tonight. I’ll be waiting.”
Her eyes widened; she nearly cursed him out right then and there.
“Jasper! So this is where you were. I’ve been looking for you.”
Bianca walked over, intimately hooking her arm through his. Noticing his wet clothes, she frowned. “How did this happen?”
“It’s nothing.”

Bianca turned to the dazed server. Her first instinct was to snap, but remembering her “graceful” persona, she forced a friendly smile. “It’s quite alright. I’ll handle this. You may go.”
Tatiana didn’t even lift her head as she beat a hasty retreat.
Jasper caught Norman’s eye. Norman understood immediately, slipping away quietly to follo her.
Bianca led Jasper back to his room to change. Looking at the man’s handsome profile, she couldn’t resist standing on her tiptoes to lean against his chest. Her voice was syrupy sweet. “You went on for so long last night… I’m exhausted today.”
His eyes were dark and hollow, yet his voice remained incredibly gentle. “I’ll try to control myself.”
Her cheeks flushed. “No need. I can handle it; I’m just a little tired.”
It was more than just a little.
She hadn’t noticed that her body was becoming increasingly frail. There were dark circles under her eyes, and her hair was falling out in clumps. It was the result of excessive hypnosis- her vitality was being drained to the breaking point.
But she simply thought she was being loved too thoroughly.
Jasper’s lips curled into a cruel, silent smile. “Why don’t you rest for a while?”
“Only if you stay with me.”
“I will.”
She leaned into Jasper’s embrace, intending to enjoy the moment, but she fell into a deep sleep almost instantly.
A hand slowly moved toward her throat.
With just a little pressure, he could end this imposter who had stolen what wasn’t hers.
But no. Not yet.
The time hadn’t come. There was still one final hypnosis session needed; he had to find out who the other person involved was, besides Donnie.
He refused to believe Tatiana was dead. She had to be out there, somewhere in the world, waiting for him. He would dismantle this fake piece by piece, reclaim everything that belonged to his wife, find her, and give it all back.

His phone vibrated. It was Norman.
“I lost her. That was definitely no ordinary server. She has accomplices.”
Jasper’s expression darkened. Recalling those familiar eyes, an impossible suspicion surged in his heart, only to be immediately suppressed.
It couldn’t be her. If it were, she would have recognized him.
Unless… unless she had lost her
memory.
His heart gave a violent shudder. “Find her. Now!”
Norman clicked his tongue. “Are you for real? You’ve actually fallen for a server? You’re throwing away your beautiful wife for that?”
“Don’t ask questions.”
Norman shrugged, assuming Jasper just wanted a change of pace. “Fine, fine. I’ll find her for you.”
Finding her was easier said than done. Tatiana had already left the hotel and returned to their base.
Her brooding silence piqued Alita’s curiosity. “Why do you look so miserable? Is it because that creep followed you? Don’t worry, we won’t let any weirdos get near you!”
Tatiana had realized she was being followed the moment she left the ballroom; she had used Alita’s help to successfully shake him off.
“I’m fine.”
“Liar! You don’t look fine; you look sad. Why? Is it because of that pretty–boy?”
“Pretty–boy?”
“Yeah! That pale guy. He’s tall, sure, but his skin is whiter than mine. Probably some useless dandy.”
Since arriving in Murica, Alita had been absorbing modern culture at a frightening speed, and her vocabulary was getting more colorful by the day.
Tatiana reached out and covered Alita’s mouth. “You need to stop watching those trashy TV shows.”
Alita blinked innocently.

“He’s not a ‘dandy.‘ That man is dangerous. Don’t underestimate him.”
Alita pulled Tatiana’s hand away, her eyes wide with shock. “You like him!”
Tatiana froze, then immediately snapped back: “Don’t be ridiculous!”
