Chapter 38 The Nightmare Returns

The tapping hand stopped. He finally spoke, his voice cold.

“Why did you run?”

Because I want to get treatment.

The words were stuck in her throat. She couldn’t say them.

Tatiana froze, subconsciously raising her head. “That’s not it!”

She didn’t dare!

“Then why did you run.”

She pulled at the corner of her lips. She stopped begging and said instead, “I regret it.”

Her voice was very soft.

So soft it was almost inaudible.

Jasper’s expression changed. He narrowed his eyes. “Regret what?”

She looked down, her dense, crow–like lashes holding teardrops. They fell slowly with a blink, hitting the floor and spreading, bit by bit.

Her barely audible voice was tinged with weariness. “I regret… meeting you.”

Falling in love with you.

And… saving you.

Jasper didn’t hear clearly, but the orderlies had already forcibly pulled Tatiana up. Rowan, not delaying a moment, walked straight out.

“Rest assured, sir. In half a month, she will definitely become kind and good. Those bad habits will certainly be corrected! Especially her audacity to extort your mother. That kind of bad habit needs a good correction!”
