“If I may be blunt,” Tatiana continued over the phone, “in that place, only Alita is wholeheartedly on your side. She cares for you without a single ulterior motive, and yet, you do not cherish it.”

“You know perfectly well that she likes you. If you do not feel the same, you should tell her properly. There is no need for such cruelty. On Steele Island, there are more men who admire her than you realize. She is a wonderful girl and deserves to be treated with sincerity.”

After hanging up. Lucas found it impossible to stay in bed. He turned the situation over in his mind before finally pushing the door open and heading out. He rushed to the hotel and rang her doorbell. No one answered.

After a few shouts, the door finally swung open to reveal a face clouded with resentment but flickering with expectation.

“I thought you told me to get lost,” she said. “Why are you back?”

He rubbed his temples and spoke solemnly. “I am sorry. I did not mean to snap at you earlier. I was in a foul mood. To apologize, let me take you out for a meal. You are hungry, aren’t you?”

Tammy wanted to claim she wasn’t, but her stomach betrayed her with a loud, untimely growl.

Lucas offered a small smile. “Come on. I know you will love this.”

At the sight of that familiar, gentle smile, Tammy’s resolve crumbled. She threw the door open wide. “I am ready!”

Bellwood’s barbecue was as famous as its harbor. Lucas intended to find a proper restaurant, but Tammy forcibly detoured him to a roadside barbecue stall. Facing the sea with a gentle breeze carrying the mouth- watering scent of grilled meat toward them, Tammy looked like she was about to drool.

Lucas watched the scene, his lip twitching. “Hubert gave you that?”

“Yes! Hubert is incredible!” She pulled the menu closer and pointed at a few items.

Lucas prepared to place the order. “Just these few?”

She shook her head vigorously. “No! I want everything on the menu except for those few!”

“Are you joking?”

“I am not! I want all of it!”

He let out a deep sigh and placed the order, resigning himself to his fate. Even the owner was stunned. “The two of you cannot possibly finish this. This is enough for six or seven people.”

“It is fine,” Lucas replied. “Just bring it out.”

The owner got to work, and trays of sizzling skewers began to arrive. Lucas soon witnessed just how terrifying her appetite truly was. For every skewer he ate, she devoured ten. The combat power of a woman from the island was truly awe–inspiring. Nearby customers began to stare, and some even pulled out their phones to sneak a photo.

Tammy sat with a boisterous posture, grease glistening on her lips as she ate with total abandon. Against her bronzed skin, she had the aura of a fierce warrior. Lucas was genuinely shocked, but he also found her lack of refinement difficult to watch. How could a woman be so uninhibited? She had no concern for her image.
