Tatiana changed into her athletic gear, her long hair swept into a side braid. Her eyes were fixed and determined. The scar on her face had faded significantly; unless one looked closely, it was hardly noticeable. In this outfit, she looked exceptionally sweet and youthful.
However, beneath her calm exterior, her palms were slick with sweat.
Because of her striking looks and her status as a high–paying VIP, several instructors were eager to lead her jump. Seeing their somewhat flirtatious demeanors, Tatiana didn’t trust their technical skills for a second and rejected them all.
Soon, the staff brought over the club’s top–tier instructor. He was quite tall, dressed in the standard uniform -a snug leather jacket and casual denim trousers tucked into military boots. His silhouette was exceptionally sharp. Even though everyone wore the same uniform, he carried himself with an air of competence and charisma that eclipsed the other instructors.
As he approached, nearly every tourist in the vicinity turned to look. He wore a face gaiter and sunglasses, leaving not a single inch of his face visible. Even without showing his features, he was enough to spark anyone’s imagination.
Tatiana looked him up and down once and decided: he was the one. This man clearly looked more reliable and capable than the others.
“This is our ace instructor, Dorman,” the staff member introduced.
Maintaining her politeness, Tatiana extended her hand. “Hello.”
The instructor didn’t speak; he simply shook her hand with a professional courtesy. Even through the gloves, she could feel his warmth. Whether it was a trick of her mind or not, she felt a brief, firm squeeze the moment their hands met. It vanished instantly, and she suppressed her odd suspicion.
“Since you’re ready, let’s begin. You’ll need to do some warm–ups, and we’ll go over the essential safety protocols and knowledge.”
“Understood.”
She focused intently on her warm–up exercises. The instructor stood to the side, watching her. Despite the sunglasses obscuring his gaze, she had an uncanny feeling that his eyes were fixed solely on her.
“Hey, handsome! Can I request you as my instructor?”
A flashily dressed woman suddenly cut in, standing in front of the instructor and making her move with a bold, suggestive gaze. The instructor ignored her completely.
The woman, thinking he hadn’t heard, spoke up again. “Money is no object. You-”
“How much?” a voice interrupted from behind.
The woman turned around in surprise.
Tatiana repeated herself. “How much are you offering?”

The woman realized what was happening and sneered. “Your head is filled with nothing but money.
Tatiana remained calm. “Actually, weren’t you the one who brought it up first? Since it’s ‘no object, give me a number.”
The woman turned back to the instructor. “Look at this, handsome. Your client doesn’t care about you at all. Tell me what she’s paying, and I’ll double it if you switch to me.”
Tatiana agreed instantly. “Fine by me.”
The instructor tilted his head slightly, appearing to look at her with a hint of dissatisfaction. Tatiana didn’t care; she gestured for a staff member to bring over the price list and handed it to the woman.
“I personally paid two hundred thousand. Since you want to double it, that’ll be four hundred thousand.”
The woman gasped. “Are you trying to rob me?!”
“Why? Didn’t you just say money was no object?”
The woman stuttered, unable to find a comeback. After a few muttered insults, she turned and stormed off.
Tatiana let out a small sigh. She looked up at the instructor. “I’m sorry, It seems she couldn’t afford you.”
A very faint sound, like a chuckle, seemed to escape from behind his gaiter, though it was hard to tell. Tatiana didn’t dwell on the interlude. She finished her warm–up, stretched her limbs, and committed the safety protocols to memory.
Then, they boarded.
They took a helicopter to an altitude of ten thousand feet. Looking down, the world looked like a miniature model, the stunning scenery laid out beneath them. But she was undeniably nervous. She fastened her goggles and checked her buckles.
The cabin door opened, and the roar of the rotors drowned out all speech. They had to rely on simple hand signals.
The instructor signaled: Ready?
She took a deep breath and nodded.
The moment she gave the signal, the force of gravity took hold as they plummeted toward the earth. The intense sensation of weightlessness made her let out an uncontrollable scream. They were falling at high speeds, the biting wind whipping past them.
For a heartbeat, she thought she was going to die.
Then, the parachute deployed with a sudden whoosh. The momentum yanked their bodies upward. A voice reached her ears: “Open your eyes and look.”
The words were shredded by the wind, but they carried a haunting sense of familiarity. She opened her eyes and looked down, utterly stunned by the beauty before her.
It was breathtaking. Golden sunlight bathed the earth. Blue sky, white clouds, majestic mountains, and winding rivers lay beneath her. It was a view unlike anything she had ever seen. The gloom that had
