Norman gritted his teeth, shifting his weight low as he cranked the handlebars. It was a textbook evasive maneuver–a perfect drift executed under extreme pressure.
On the back seat, Tammy felt herself nearly leave the saddle as the bike banked hard.
They cleared it!
They missed the oncoming bike by a hair’s breadth. But before they could draw a single breath of relief, Tammy screamed, “Look out!!”
Another motorcycle burst from the opposite direction, hurtling toward them. This time, there
was no way out.
In that split second, Norman made a snap judgment to minimize the damage. He jerked the front wheel, intentionally slamming into the guardrail. The bike flipped, and as they were thrown into the air, he lunged for Tammy, pulling her tightly into his chest to shield her.
A muffled grunt escaped him as his body absorbed the impact, but he refused to let go.
Below the guardrail was a steep slope, and at the bottom lay a rushing river. Two loud splashes echoed through the night as they plummeted into the water and vanished from sight.
The thugs stood by the railing, staring down into the dark. Their bravado evaporated, replaced by cold terror.
“Who told you to scare them like that? What if they’re dead?”
“We’re finished. We just killed someone! We’re going to prison!”
“What do we do? We actually killed them!”
“Save them! Get down there and pull them out! Call an ambulance!”
One of them reached for his phone to call emergency services, but his companion slapped it out of his hand.
“You idiot! Are you crazy? If anyone finds out, we’re all done for!”
“Then what? This is your fault! You said we were just going to scare them, maybe leave them with a few broken bones. Why did you have to ram them?”
They began to turn on each other, frantic and desperate. Eventually, the instinct for self- preservation overrode their fear. None of them wanted to spend their lives behind bars, and the best way to avoid that was to erase the evidence.

Chapter 464 Into the Depths
:
Finished
There were no cameras on this stretch of road, and they had taken a back trail to get here. No one would know. They quickly scrubbed the scene of any signs of a struggle, making it look like a tragic, solitary accident where a bike had simply lost control and gone over the edge.
Then, they fled.
After her third call to Tammy went unanswered, Tatiana realized something was wrong. Tammy was never the type to go off the grid like this. She contacted Lucas immediately, demanding to know where she was.
To her surprise, Lucas sounded frustrated, his voice tinged with anger. “I don’t know where she is. She’s probably out carousing with someone.”
Tatiana frowned. “What is that supposed to mean? She was on a date with you.”
Lucas gave a brief summary of what happened at the restaurant, placing a heavy emphasis on the fact that Tammy had jumped onto another man’s motorcycle. Tatiana wasn’t fooled for a second.
“What exactly happened at that restaurant? Tammy wouldn’t just walk out like that on a whim.”
Lucas rubbed his temples. “She attacked someone. I stopped her. She got angry.”
Tatiana didn’t waste another word on him. She used her resources to pull the restaurant’s surveillance footage to see the truth for herself. When she and the others heard what Quinny had said to Tammy, their faces turned ashen.
Tammy hadn’t understood the first time, but everyone else did. The insults were vile.
Lucas suddenly remembered Tammy asking him what “chicken” meant. It hadn’t been an innocent question out of nowhere…
Tatiana let out a cold, mocking laugh, her eyes freezing as she looked at Lucas. “And you called. that ‘attacking someone without reason“?”
Lucas bit his lip, rendered speechless.
“I never should have let her go on that date,” Tatiana spat. “Dr. Lund, you don’t deserve a single drop of Tammy’s sincerity.”
She turned and marched out. Lucas felt a sharp pang in his chest and chased after her. “Tatiana! Where is Tammy?”
“It’s none of your business. Stay away from us, or I might actually decide to kill you.”
Lucas stopped in his tracks, a heavy shroud of regret settling over him.
