For some reason, that last remark actually sounded quite pleasant to her cars.
The couple wasn’t granted much time for a lingering farewell, as it was already time for Norman to take the stage.
He felt a lingering unease about leaving his beautiful wife alone in the spectator stands, but a quick memory of her flying kick reminded him that his concerns were likely misplaced.
With a heart caught between worry and confidence, Norman stepped up. He decided to end the match as quickly as possible, claim the prize money, and get her out of there. The sooner they left, the better he would feel.
This feeling of protective anxiety was new to him, but he found he didn’t mind it at all.
Tammy looked up toward Ring Three, where Norman’s match was set to take place. His opponent was already waiting.
The man was a brawny powerhouse with intimidating muscle definition and a savage glint in his eyes. He looked like the definition of trouble.
The surrounding spectators were already whispering.
“Which poor bastard drew Ring Three? Talk about bad luck. That’s basically a guaranteed death sentence.”
“That’s Ape. Anyone who crosses him ends up dead or crippled. The guy has zero honor–even if you forfeit, he won’t stop until he’s finished you off.”
“Haha! That’s exactly why I like him! His matches are the most thrilling. Why else come here if not for the blood and violence?”
Tammy’s heart tightened as she overheard the comments. She watched the stage with bated breath.
The moment Norman stepped into the ring, the arena erupted in a wave of mockery and laughter.
It couldn’t be helped; Norman was far too handsome, possessing the refined looks of someone who belonged in a high–end lounge rather than a blood–soaked pit. While he wasn’t frail— boasting the kind of lean, functional muscle that looked sleek in a suit but formidable underneath–he looked decidedly small standing next to the “Great Ape.”
The crowd didn’t hold back. “Where’d this skinny monkey come from? He’s going to get slaughtered!”

“Break him in half!”
“Did this pretty boy take a wrong turn? He looks like he should be serving drinks, not fighting, What the hell is he doing here?”
Norman paid the jeers no mind. He fixed his gaze on his opponent, mentally dissecting the man’s strengths and weaknesses.
A big guy, huh? Interesting.
Tammy, however, was far from calm. She watched with wide, worried eyes, her mood souring by the second.
And naturally, while she was in such a foul mood, someone decided to provoke her.
A young couple sitting directly in front of her was busy lost in their own world, kissing as if no one else existed. That alone might have been tolerable, but they decided to stand up, feeding off the whistles of the crowd to intensify their public display of affection.
Their standing blocked her view entirely.
Tammy shifted left and then right, but she couldn’t see a thing. Her patience snapped.
“If you want to make out, go home! Move it!”
The couple, annoyed at the interruption, spun around to glare at her.
“What did you just say? Say that again!”
Tammy tried to maintain a shred of politeness, repeating herself firmly. “I said, sit down. You’re blocking the fight.”
The woman, seeing how beautiful Tammy was, felt a sudden surge of jealousy. She pointed a finger and snapped, “If you’re so desperate to watch, go home and watch it on TV! Who do you think you’re shouting at?”
Tammy’s patience hit zero. “Are you going to sit down or not?”
The woman puffed out her chest, her face thick with makeup, and sneered. “I’m staying right here. What are you going to do about it? Careful, or I’ll have my boyfriend deal with you.” She dragged out the last word with a sickly sweet, condescending tone.
To show off for his girlfriend, the man reached out, intending to shove Tammy back into her seat. His hand moved toward her chest with obvious, predatory intent.
Tammy let out a cold laugh. She caught his wrist, jerking it forward with such force that the

man lost his balance instantly. Before he could recover, she drove her foot into the side of his knee.
The man collapsed, his knee slamming hard against the concrete steps.
He let out a roar of pain and fury. “You’re dead!”
Unfortunately for him, he was nowhere near Tammy’s level.
With a swift twist and a brutal wrench, she dislocated both of his shoulders in one fluid motion.
The man shrieked in agony, unable to even push himself off the ground as she held him down.
“Since you didn’t want to sit,” she hissed, “you can stay on your knees.”
The spectators nearby were stunned by the ruthless efficiency of her movements. Before they could even process what was happening, the man had been completely neutralized.
It was fast–terrifyingly fast. And the strength she displayed was staggering.
The woman, seeing her boyfriend handled so easily, instinctively lunged forward to grab Tammy’s hair. But before she could make a move, she locked eyes with Tammy. The sheer intensity of that gaze made her stumble back, her heart racing.
Those eyes were terrifying. They were the eyes of a lion on the hunt.
