“Bovine!” she struggled, tears finally breaking through. “Why? Why are you acting like you don’t know me?”

“Shut up.”

He cut her off with a sharp, harsh tone. There was a flash of ruthlessness in his eyes she had never seen before. “Take her away.”

The guards grabbed her by both arms.

Tammy felt the world spinning. It wasn’t just physical. It was mental.

How could this cold–blooded man be the same husband who always smiled at her so dotingly in her memories?

For the first time, she felt a pain in her chest like a physical blade.

“You’re going to regret this,” she choked out. “If you really are a stranger, then I’m sorry. But if you are Bovine… you will definitely regret treating me like this today.”

Her Bovine would never look at her with eyes like that.

Norman’s gaze wavered for a split second, but it was gone before it could settle.

He made a gesture and the guards immediately began dragging her out.

The last thing Tammy saw was his back as he turned to walk away.

She was taken into the elevator and brought up to a luxury suite on the top floor of the hotel.

The men shoved her inside and locked the door behind her.

She stumbled toward the bathroom and splashed cold water on her burning face.

In the mirror, her eyes were bloodshot and her makeup was a smeared mess. She looked like a pathetic,

crazy woman.

Maybe she really did have the wrong person.

The husband she loved so deeply would never treat her this way.

Just as she started to doubt herself, the lock clicked.

She spun around and saw the masked man walking in alone. He locked the door behind him and started walking toward her, step by step.

Tammy’s heart hammered against her ribs.

“Bovine…”

She couldn’t help the surge of joy. She moved toward him cautiously. “I knew it was you.”

“I told you, you have the wrong person.”

His voice was still cold, but the harshness he used in front of the others was gone.

Tammy didn’t believe him. She pressed further. “Then why come to my room? If you really are a stranger…”

He suddenly turned and ripped off the mask.

That face. It was Bovine.

Tammy screamed in excitement. “It is you!”

She lunged at him, but he stepped aside and let her stumble past.

“Look closer.”

He spoke coldly, opening a photo gallery on his phone and showing her a picture. The image showed a man who looked exactly like him, with his arm around a blonde woman.

This is my brother, Taven Cole. We’re twins. This is the man you know, right?”

She stared at the photo a few more times.

They looked so much alike.

Tammy felt the room tilt and had to lean against the wall for support.

Seeing her calm down, Norman let out a dry laugh. “Realized your mistake?”

She remembered Bovine had a scar on his arm near the joint.

It looked incredibly lifelike.
