Tatiana let go and stepped back. She grabbed the tea sitting in front of Jasper and downed it in one go.

It didn’t help. She was still fuming.

Jasper calmly refilled her cup.

“You aren’t going after her,” Norman said.

“You can’t stop me. And for the record, lying to her is only going to make this worse?

Norman didn’t flinch. “She doesn’t remember you right now. She only trusts me. If you interfere, I’ll take her away immediately,”

Jasper stood up and stepped behind Tatiana, his eyes pinning Norman down. “Don’t threaten my wife, Mr. Norman,”

He wasn’t calling him a friend anymore. The shift was obvious.

Norman raised his hands in surrender, backing off.

“One month. Just give me one month. After that, I promise I’ll bring her back to you in one piece. I’m not trying to pull anything. You might not believe me, but I just proposed to Flowie… I mean, Tammy. She said yes. All she can think about right now is getting married. I’m not lying to you. Tammy might not care about a ceremony, but she’s Flowic right now. I want to give her what she wants.”

Tatiana froze.

It sounded like a line, but she felt herself wavering. She remembered standing in a corner where Tammy couldn’t see her, watching her laugh with Norman.

It was a pure, radiant smile. It was more sincere than any look she had ever given Lucas.

“It’s only a month,” Norman added, waiting for her verdict. “I promised her a wedding next month.”

Even with his identity back, he was no match for these two. He couldn’t win a fight against them, and he didn’t want to make things impossible for Tammy.

“Fine. One month. But you follow my rules.”

“Name them,” Norman said. He was dead serious.

“First, don’t touch her. You know exactly what I mean.”

“I shouldn’t have agreed to Norman’s deal. It’s not fair to Tammy.”

Tammy was still Tammy. She was smart and decisive. She never wasted energy on drama and she knew how to protect herself.

I’ve been so obsessed with protecting her that I forgot she’s a wolf, not a lamb. She doesn’t need me to hide her from the world.

The guilt started to lift. She raised her teacup and tapped it against Jasper’s.
