Chapter 89
Chapter 89
In just one afternoon, Lynette picked out a bunch of candidates and shot the list over to Britney’s inbox.
After looking through the whole list, none of them really caught Britney’s eye.
Some of the more capable ladies had their expertise in other fields, not fashion.
Thing was, time was running short. There just wasn’t any extra time for them to learn the ropes or observe.
Britney sent Lynette a link.
It was a freelance illustrator and fashion designer who went by the username “Chester Wilde.”
He didn’t post much.

Every two or three months, he’d drop a new post, sometimes an illustration, sometimes a rough sketch or a work-in- progress fashion design.
Even so, every single post was eye-catching.
The owner of this account was seriously eccentric. After posting, he’d just let the comment section flood with replies, never responding to anyone. It was like he was just ticking off a box. He never cared to maintain his profile.
Still, Chester had racked up over four million followers.
Britney had started following this account more than a year ago.
Back then, she’d tried sending a bunch of DMs, but not only did she never get a reply. It was like throwing a message into a black hole. He never even clicked on them.
Every time Britney saw that long string of unread messages in her chat box, she thought it was pretty wild.
Britney couldn’t help but be super curious about Chester.
It wasn’t just the whole mysterious vibe he gave off, either.
Whenever Britney saw unread messages in her inbox, she just had to click in and get rid of them.
But Chester just let his messages pile up, totally ignoring them.
Ever since then, Britney had been dying to find a chance to actually get to know Chester.
The moment Britney heard about the Santos Group’s upcoming fashion show, Chester was the first person who came to mind.
She was determined to invite Chester to join the Santos Group’s design team.
She shot Lynette a message: “Can you look into this and see if we can get in touch with them?”
Lynette didn’t reply right away. Instead, she clicked on the link itney had sent her.
After looking around the profile, Lynette found there was nothing there except for the username.
The whole thing was totally clean, even the IP was kept private.
All she got was just that username, nothing else at all.

Chapter 89
Since Lynette started helping Britney out, this was the first time he’d ever gotten such a tough assignment.
She quickly messaged back: “I’ll give it a shot!”
Britney saw her reply and reassured Lynette, “Don’t stress too much, just do what you can.”
To be honest, Britney herself wasn’t sure if they’d actually be able to find Chester.
If they did, that’d be the best outcome.

Still, Britney knew she couldn’t put all her eggs in one basket, so she kept searching for other designers to team up with, just in case things didn’t work out.
Fredrick handed Britney a stack of files. “These are the ones Kenny picked out for you. Take a look.”
Britney reached out and took them.
It was a well-known design team under the Larson Group in Averiburg.
Jeremy ran a massive talent agency that had launched the career of countless stars in the entertainment industry.
Best Actor, Best Actress, top TV personalities, and all the hottest ising idols. Most of the big names out there had been made famous by the Larson Group.
With so many celebrities on their roster, the Larson Group had treated a bunch of famous brands just for their own artists.
That was why the Larson Group only brought in renowned designers.
Britney stared at Fredrick in shock. “The Larson Group’s exclusive designers? Fredrick, are you kidding me?”
‘It’s just a fashion show, and you want to bring in the Larson Group’s top team? Isn’t that kind of over the top?’ she thought. ‘Besides, with the Santos Group’s current standing, there’s no way we could afford such big-name designers.’
‘Is he actually serious right now?’ Britney thought, completely baffled.
Seeing the disbelief in Britney’s eyes, Fredrick said seriously, “If you’re interested, I can set you up. I happen to know the current head of the Larson Group.”
He was already extending an olive branch, and Britney definitely got the hint.
She really appreciated it and smiled at Fredrick. “Alright, even ift doesn’t work out, I’ll just chalk it up to experience.”
After all, it never hurt to meet more people in the industry.
Besides, Fredrick was just looking out for her, and Britney didn’t want to hurt his feelings by turning him down again.
Seeing Britney actually accept his offer this time, Fredrick was quietly over the moon.
Still, he kept his poker face, only letting a bit of warmth show in his eyes.
Britney was still going over Chester with Lynette, trying to figure out a way forward.
The real issue was, there was so little info to go on that Lynette ad tried a few times and just hit a dead end.
Britney started pondering, lost in her own thoughts.
Lynette said: [Sienna’s crew keeps hitting up our new recruits at antos Group; talk about shameless! She’s even dangling triple the salary to lure them away!]

Chapter 89
If Britney hadn’t told her to watch Sienna, Lynette probably wouldn’t have even noticed that woman.
When Lynette found out about Sienna’s tactics, she was so mad

The Galloway family must be addicted to snatching people from other teams, Lynette thought.
It didn’t matter if they actually succeeded or not. The way they were doing it was just so shady, which made her skin crawl.
Just reading Lynette’s message, Britney could totally picture her anting about Sienna, all worked up and not holding back.
Britney just smiled and tried to soothe Lynette’s nerves.
Britney never worried about anyone on her team betraying her. They were all loyal veterans who’d stuck with her through everything, and she paid them well, too.
If anyone really wanted to leave, they would’ve done it years ago They wouldn’t still be here with her now.
Sienna was even willing to offer triple the salary, which just showed she was dead set on poaching from Britney’s team.
It wasn’t just Britney who caught word. Fredrick had heard about Sienna’s poaching attempts, too.
Kenny was on the phone with Fredrick, giving him the rundown
Fredrick just listened quietly, then smirked with obvious disdain. “If Sienna’s got that much time on her hands, let’s make sure she’s got plenty to keep her busy.
“Her pathetic company isn’t even on my radar. No need to take her down completely, just keep her so busy she won’t have time to bother Britney at all.”
Sure, Fredrick could easily step in and deal with Sienna himself if he wanted to.
But he knew Britney would much rather take matters into her own hands than have him swoop in for her.
When it came to the Galloway family, all Fredrick needed to do was back her up, occasionally lend a hand, and clear the way. As for everything else, he’d leave it to Britney.
Kenny paused for a second before adding, “Oh, and it looks like Ms. Santos is searching for someone. Her assistant just dropped a message in the chat group.”
While talking, he sent Fredrick a screenshot of the message from the chat group.
Thinking about it, Kenny couldn’t help but marvel at how good He was at this assistant gig.
The only contact sitting quietly in his alt account was Lynette.
He’d spent ages lurking in that massive chat group, scheming just to get Lynette on his contact list.
Fredrick glanced at the screenshot. Lynette was putting out a call in the group, asking if anyone knew anything about Chester, even putting up a hefty reward for any leads on that username.
He thought for a second, then said to Kenny, “See if you can dig p anything.”
Fredrick had just done a quick search. He figured Britney was hunting for someone for the fashion show.
