Chapter 1
I ruined my reputation trying to save someone-and ended up being forced to marry Chadwick, a man whose heart only ever belonged to his “dream girl.”
I served his family for twenty long years, drained myself dry, and when I was lying on my deathbed waiting for his signature to authorize my life-saving surgery-he was off at a concert with her.
Then I woke up.
Back at the crossroads where my life first went to hell.
This time, I steered clear of him-and turned down his proposal.
Everyone at the plant laughed, said I was crazy.
That I dumped a “college-educated technician” just to marry some old, limping mechanic from the repair shop.
Chadwick even showed up to mock me, so sure I’d come crawling back one day.
He didn’t know-this time. I’d be the one watching him fall
My head rang like I’d just been smacked with a steel hammer.
The world spun, stars burst in my vision, and my chest felt tight-air caught halfway up my throat, neither in nor out.
The stench of motor oil and rust filled my nose, mixed with the cool, damp smell of dead leaves in the fall night.
That smell-it was the Redline Machinery Plant.
The same smell I’d breathed for thirty damn years before I died.
I blinked hard, and my vision slowly came into focus.
The tall smokestacks were still belching out white plumes, and somewhere in the distance, the factory PA system was finishing up “Solidarity Forever.”
I’d just gotten off the night shift.
I looked down-faded blue coveralls, oil stains still wet at the sleeves.
At my feet, the road split in two.
Left-a muddy, half-lit shortcut back to the dorms.
Right-a longer route, paved with gravel, bright under the streetlights.
My heart skipped.
This was it.
The same damn crossroads where everything in my life had gone wrong.
A chill shot up my spine, cold as death itself.

Tw
I Stone With M…
Chapter 1
Terror and hatred rose like a tidal wave.
Here.
This place.
This exact night.
Memories crashed over me like a flood.
It was just like before-an autumn night, same factory, same fork in the road.
I’d taken the left path, trying to save a few minutes.
That’s where I ran into Chadwick, the young technician from the plant, cornered by a few thugs trying to rob him.
I was young then, hotheaded, thought I couldn’t just walk away.
I grabbed a wrench from my bag and jumped in.
By the time it was over, I’d smashed the leader’s head open, my own arm was slashed, blood everywhere.
Chadwick didn’t get so much as a scratch.
And that night destroyed my whole damn life.
Rumors spread fast-twisted, filthy versions of the truth.
By the time it reached management, it’d turned into “Ellie Riggs caught fooling around with Chadwick behind the plant; fight broke out when
someone saw them.”
And in a small-town factory like Redline, reputation meant everything.
To them, I wasn’t a woman who tried to help-I was a scandal.
So for the sake of the factory’s “image,” and my parents’ reputation, and all that “for your own good” bullshit, they forced me to marry him.
The man I never loved. The man who never wanted me.
The man who had already been pining for Skylar-the college girl from the city he called his “first love.”
To him, marrying me was some kind of punishment from God.
And I was expected to spend a lifetime paying him back for it.
Twenty years of grease, yelling, and silent dinners.
I cooked for his picky parents, raised his cold, selfish son, and kept a house that never once felt like home.
The girl I used to be-bright, quick, full of laughter-turned into a pale, quiet woman with hands cracked from scrubbing.
He never once showed me warmth. Only contempt.
“If you hadn’t thrown yourself at me, you think I’d have married you?”
“Look at yourself. You’re embarrassing.”

Ew I Slept With My ‘Bro’ For 3 Years?! Well GO HELL F*ckbord
Chapter 1
“You can’t even raise our kid right-he’s just like you, useless.”
All his kindness, all his patience-those were reserved for Skylar.
The same Skylar who had long since married someone else but still ran to him with her tears and her drama, treating him like her personal therapist.
And me? I died waiting for his signature on a consent form
He was at a concert-with her.
The doctor’s calls went unanswered.
