Chapter 108
Third Person’s PQV
Mortimer stared at his dead phone screen. The sharp dial tone sounded like a slap to the face.
Seraphina was actually protecting that man protecting him so fiercely she wouldn’t even let Mortiiner say a single word against him.
In her world, the “husband” on the contract was officially worth less than a stray in the street.
The irony was a bitter pill.
Mortimer hurled the phone onto the sofa and buried his head in his hands
A few minutes later, the device buzzed again. It was Tade.
“Alpha, we have the results. The cause of Rolf’s crash has been confirmed. I’ve sent the full report to your private server.”
Mortimer pulled up the email.
As he scrolled through the attachments, his expression didn’t just harden; it turned to stone. His eyes glowed with a lethal, arctic chill.
Social Media. Midnight. A new video was tearing through the algorithms.
In it, Vivian was a ghost of herself-curled into a ball in the corner of her bed, whispering through jagged sobs: “Seraphina… I’m sorry… it’s all my fault… please forgive me…”
The camera panned across a wreckage of glass shards on her bedroom floor.
In the second half of the clip, Vivian crawled off the bed, her bare feet hitting the jagged debris.
She looked numb to the pain, screaming for Seraphina’s forgiveness as crimson bloomed across the white carpet.
The footage was shaky, punctuated by Lillian’s theatrical screams in the background.
Lillian had posted it from a burner account with a caption that was pure PR manipulation: Vivian’s actions were born from a sister’s desperation. She’s too pure for this world and never expected the backlash. Now, her wolf-soul fracture has triggered a total mental collapse. We beg the public for mercy.
A diagnostic report signed by a private doctor was pinned to the top.
Vivian’s fanatical base, which had been silent for hours, found their voices again.
“Are you happy now, you monsters?! Vivian is bleeding out for your ‘justice’!”
“A relapse of the illness is no joke. Do you want her dead?”
“Seraphina Hale is cold-blooded. She should accept the apology and tell her mob to back off.”
“Rolf’s case is still a mystery. Maybe the ‘star surgeon’ is just using the internet to hide her own screw-up.”
But the general public wasn’t buying the theater this time.
“Wait, so the mom just happened to have a camera ready when her daughter decided to walk on glass? This is a C-list horror movie at best.”
Lillian immediately replied, “The doctor’s request was to record Vivian’s daily mental state for follow-up treatment. We’re not trying to defend her; as a mother, I just beg everyone to give this poor patient some space.”
But this time, public opinion did not go as she wished.

“So she’s a ‘delusional victim’ when she gets caught, but a mastermind when she’s bullying doctors? Pick a struggle, Influencer Girl.”
“As someone who actually suffers from chronic illness, I find this disgusting. Stop using our pain as a PR shield.”
“Seraphina is so unlucky. We can’t let such clowns continue to trample on the dignity of the profession!”
Inside the Davis’ mansion, Vivian’s face was a mask of jagged fury.
The “pity play” wasn’t working. Instead of flowers, she was getting ratioed by people who saw through the blood and the tears.
“Useless peasants! They all deserve to rot!”
Vivian hissed at her screen, her clean features twisting into something unrecognizable.
Connor and Lillian, sitting nearby, were startled by Vivian’s appearance.
“Vivian, honey, take it easy,” Lillian whispered, eyeing the bandages on her feet. “Don’t rip the stitches.”
Vivian looked up, her eyes burning with a manic light. “Dad. Mom. The final hearing is the day after tomorrow. Do not accept a settlement. You push. You scream malpractice. We make it so toxic that Shadowfang has to fire her.”
