Chapter 115
Third Person’s PQV
Her voice was an arctic gale. When it hit Mortimer’s ears, it felt like a physical frostbite
Lillian, seeing Seraphina remain completely unmoved by her tears, felt her fury spike.
She glared at the surgeon with the same jagged malice Vivian used. “Seraphina, what is wrong with you? Are you honestly trying to drive Vivian to the edge?”
Seraphina didn’t flinch. “I am protecting my legal rights and my professional name. If Miss Davis’ condition worsens because the truth is inconvenient, I happen to know a very reputable psychiatrist. I’d be happy to give her a referral.”
Every word hit like a gavel.
She stood with her spine locked in a straight, uncompromising line.
She looked at Vivian-whose face was now a mask of dark, pulsating spite-and offered a small, clinical smile. “Wolf-soul fracture is a serious matter. If your current doctor has been treating you this long without results, it clearly means they aren’t up to the task. I suggest Miss Davis stop hiding from the reality of her illness. Seeking proper help isn’t a crime.”
“Yoù…” Vivian’s jaw clicked shut as she ground her teeth.
But what made her blood boil even more was the crushing sense of déjà vu.
She’d heard this before. In Mortimer’s office. He’d used the exact same clinical, dismissive logic.
“What is this?” she thought. “Some twin-soul performance? Are they trying to show me how ‘in sync’ they are even while they’re falling apart?”
Vivian’s rage hit a boiling point.
She flicked her eyes toward Mortimer, hoping for a sign, and caught him with his mouth set in a hard line-but his eyes were dancing. He was suppressing a smirk, and he was failing.
“Morty…” Vivian whimpered, her voice dropping into that frequency of absolute, omega helplessness. “Seraphina… does she really have to destroy me before she’s satisfied?”
Mortimer’s amusement vanished instantly.
He sat up straight, his heavy, golden gaze shifting back to Seraphina.
Seraphina caught the movement.
She didn’t wait for him to deliver the “be reasonable” speech she knew was coming. She cut him off with three words of ice: “1. Don’t. Consent.”
She was certain he’d been moved by Vivian’s fragile act. She was certain he was about to ask her to settle for the sake of the Davis ‘ reputation.
But why should she?
Being calm didn’t mean she was a doormat.
Vivian hadn’t just attacked her; she’d unleashed a digital lynch mob on Seraphina’s parents.
Garfield and Thomasina Hale had spent their lives in labs and lecture halls. They were people of science, people of integrity.
And because their daughter was trapped in a toxic mating with a man who couldn’t keep his orbit clean, they were being dragged through the mud.

“Not today,” Seraphina thought.
“Mortimer, you can use your rank. You can use your Alpha influence to force me into a settlement,” she said, her eyes locking onto his with a chilling, restrained fire. “But if you expect me to actually agree to forgive this? Never.”
Mortimer didn’t move. He was actually stunned by the sheer, jagged intensity coming off her.
He hadn’t intended to force her into anything, but the fact that she’d already shoved him into Vivian’s camp made a vein in his
forehead throb.
Seraphina saw the flash of irritation in his eyes and took it as a confirmation.
He was angry because she was refusing him. Fine.
She doubled down, her voice dropping into a lethal, rhythmic emphasis. “This is my life. My career. Even if you are my mate, you have zero standing to make this call for me.”
“Seraphina, don’t be ungrateful!” Vivian shrieked.
She tried to push a wave of omega pheromones into the air to cloud the room, but it was weak-pathetic.
And then, the heavy oak door was blown open from the outside.
“Who’s talking about ‘ungrateful’?” The voice was a deep, resonating rumble that carried the weight of a mountain.
The Alpha presence that followed it was so heavy it felt like the oxygen had been sucked out of the room. The newcomer swept the room with a lethal gaze before stopping on Mortimer and narrowing his eyes.
“Grandfather.” Mortimer stood up, his own Alpha aura instantly retracting in a show of absolute respect. He moved toward the
elder.
