Chapter 114
Third Person’s POV
Connor swallowed hard, his neck muscles corded with tension. He gave a stiff, jagged nod.
“Vivian… we spoiled her. I’ll make sure she’s disciplined the moment we get home. I can’t apologize enough for the chaos this has caused Seraphina and the healing center.”
He was speaking to the room, but his eyes were locked onto Mortimer like a laser.
He didn’t care about the hospital’s forgiveness; he needed the Alpha to call off the hounds. If Mortimer nodded, the crisis was
over.
Mortimer let out a low, vibrating chuckle. He flicked his eyes up, his gaze an arctic sweep across Connor’s face. “Mr. Davis, you’ve miscalculated. I’m not the victim in this conspiracy. When it comes to mercy, I don’t have a seat at the table.”
mercy
Connor’s face went a sickly shade of grey.
He was trapped. He turned, his movements slow and agonizing, toward the woman sitting next to Mortimer. “Seraphina…”
“We can end it here,” Seraphina cut him off, her voice an ice-cold blade that didn’t leave room for his rehearsed groveling. “My term’s haven’t shifted. Miss Davis goes online, tells the truth, and clears my name and the reputation of this facility. Do that, and I won’t push for a criminal referral.”
She paused, a sharp, lethal curve touching her lips as she looked at Connor’s desperate mask of a face. “As for Rolf-the son you’re so willing to let drown just to save his sister’s PR? If his own parents don’t value his life, why should an outsider like me care?”
The sarcasm in her voice was a serrated edge.
The raw judgment in her eyes hit Connor so hard his cheeks flushed a deep, humiliated red.
It was out in the open now. Connor was willing to let his son’s near-death experience slide just to keep the dream of a “Blade Pack promotion” alive.
To him, Rolf was a casualty; the Craig Group’s influence was the prize.
Mortimer tilted his head, his dark, heavy gaze lingering on Seraphina’s profile.
He realized then that he had never actually known the woman he’d been mated with for three years.
He’d expected a cloud-soft, submissive, drifting wherever he blew.
But there were thorns under the silk. She was pinning the Davis family to the wall, and in doing so, she was pricking his own legendary arrogance.
He lowered his lashes, a faint, unreadable shadow of a smile touching his mouth.
“NO! I am NOT posting a confession!”
Vivian’s shriek shattered the heavy air. Her eyes were wide, burning with a manic, toxic spite. “You said you weren’t pressing charges! Why do you keep digging at me for a ‘small mistake’?”
Seraphina looked at her with a flat, dead indifference. “I’m not pursuing a criminal case because your father begged for a deal. But your lies have shredded my professional standing. You don’t get to decide when I’m done with you.”
Seraphina stood up, her spine a straight, uncompromising line.
The sheer weight of her Luna aura-cold, clinical, and absolute-crushed Vivian’s flickering, panicked omega scent.
“Miss Davis, I gave you a chance. If you don’t know how to write the truth, I’ll be happy to draft it for you.”

Seraphina’s face showed an expression that brooked no argument.
Every word she spoke was firm and resolute, It was clear that this time, she would not let Vivian off easily.
Lillian panicked.
She was furious at the mess Vivian had made, but she was a pragmatist. If the truth came out, Vivian was finished.
She turned to Mortimer, her voice a frantic, high-pitched plea. “Mortimer, you can’t let her do this! You know how vicious the internet is. If they find out Vivian hurt her own brother, they’ll tear her apart! They’ll destroy her!”
Lillian spoke as if the angry mob was the criminal, not her daughter
Her arrogance toward the public was staggering.
“Yesterday, she almost killed herself because of the harassment,” Lillian sobbed, burying her face in her hands.
“If it happens again… I can’t… I just can’t.”
Mortimer didn’t say anything.
