Chapter 163

Third Person’s POV

The dashcam video blew up instantly.

The comment section was an absolute bloodbath of righteous fury.

Keyboard warriors and pack members alike were forming digital lynch mobs, determined to doxx the psychotic woman in the footage.

But because the car was parked a fair distance away, the woman’s face was nothing but a blur of angry pixels, shielding her identity-for now.

Sitting behind his massive mahogany desk, Mortimer’s face looked like a brewing hurricane.

His mind instantly flashed back to the raw, devastating panic in Seraphina’s eyes when she thought Dash was lost forever-the way she was trembling, on the verge of breaking down.

If she saw this unedited video of her puppy being violently kicked and thrown into a sewer, it would absolutely destroy her. She would spiral into a pit of guilt, blaming herself for not protecting him.

Mortimer tapped his index finger against the glowing screen, his jaw ticking.

After a few seconds of heavy silence, he hit the intercom and summoned his beta.

“You rang, Alpha?” Tade stepped in, perfectly poised.

Mortimer turned his phone around, sliding it across the desk. “Look at this.”

Tade leaned over. What kind of video…

“Holy shit!” The second Tade processed what was happening on the screen, his professional composure completely shattered.

He let out a vicious curse. “What kind of sick, twisted freak does that to Dash?!”

Mortimer gave him a freezing, flat look. His voice was absolute zero. “Call the PR department. Scrub this video from the internet. Wipe it completely. I want it taken down everywhere.”

“Take it… down? Wait, why?” Tade blinked, genuinely confused.

Shouldn’t this kind of animal-abusing garbage be exposed to the entire internet? Shouldn’t they let the pack and the human public rip them to shreds?

Unless… did Alpha Mortimer recognize the psycho?

Was Mortimer actually trying to protect the abuser?

Tade rubbed his chin, giving his boss a highly suspicious, sideways look.

Mortimer didn’t even notice his beta’s internal conspiracy theories. His face remained dead serious as he dropped a low, protective grumble, “If Seraphina sees this, it’s going to break her heart.”

…Oh. Tade mentally face-palmed. “Right. So for three years, he treats Luna Serephina like absolute glass, completely ignoring her feelings, but NOW he can’t even stand the thought of her being a little sad?” 1

Even though it was slightly hypocritical, Tade had to admit the logic was sound.

He practically ground his teeth watching that video-Luna Seraphina loved that little furball to death. If she saw the footage, she’d be inconsolable.

“Right away, Boss. I’ll have PR wipe the traces immediately.”

Although he still felt something was strange, Tade couldn’t figure if out for the moment.

Since Luna Seraphina was probably neck-deep in hospital rounds right now, she likely hadn’t checked her phone yet. They had a brief window to make the video disappear.

“One more thing,” Mortimer’s voice dropped another octave.

A terrifying, blood-chilling killing intent-the pure, unfiltered aura of an apex predator-flashed in his dark eyes. “Find out

exactly who that couple in the video is. And make sure they don’t have a good day ever again.”

“Yes, Alpha. Consider it done.” Tade practically sprinted out of the executive office, ready to unleash hell. 1

Meanwhile, inside the Davis household.

“Are you kidding me?! Out of all the goddamn mutts in Los Angeles, how the hell was it her dog?!”

Lillian stared at the viral video playing on her iPad, her face completely drained of blood. Reading the endless stream of death threats and bounties in the comment section, genuine terror clawed at her throat.

“It’s just a dirty, worthless stray! These online peasants are out of their goddamn minds, treating a street rat like it’s royalty!” Lillian shrieked, desperately trying to mask her spiraling panic with vicious cursing.

Sitting across from her, Connor was chain-smoking like a chimney. His face was deeply lined with stress, his brow furrowed in absolute dread.

Hearing Lillian’s hysterical rant, he let out a heavy, cynical scoff. “They literally called the dog his ‘brother’. That came straight from the Craig Corporation’s official PR account. Do you honestly think the corporate PR team would dare post something like that without Mortimer’s direct authorization?”

Lillian’s face went from pale white to a sickly shade of gray.

She wasn’t stupid. She knew exactly what that meant.

By having his multi-billion-dollar company officially recognize a stray dog as family, Mortimer was putting his foot down. He was publicly backing Seraphina.

He was telling the world, that Seraphina was still the untouchable Luna of the pack.

Anyone who messed with her was declaring war on his empire.

The reality of the situation crashed down on Lillian, suffocating her.

“Honey, what are we going to do? The camera didn’t catch my face, but if Mortimer actually uses his corporate intel network to track us down, we’re dead! What do we do?”

Lillian was genuinely terrified now.

Last night, she had been a hysterical, furious mess because her precious daughter had been dragged off by pack security. She had nowhere to vent her rage. When she saw that pathetic little dog cowering by the wall, she just wanted to strangle the beast to blow off some steam. How the hell was she supposed to know the mutt belonged to Seraphina? 1

Connor’s frown deepened until it looked carved into his face.

Faced with his wife’s panic, he had absolutely no solutions.

The Davis family’s entire elite lifestyle was completely dependent on leaching off the Blade Pack.

In the face of absolute Alpha power, if Mortimer decided to crush them, they wouldn’t even have the strength to fight back.
