Chapter 165
Third Person’s POV
But just then, Connor, who had already reached the entryway, suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He turned around and interjected with a cold sneer, “Vivian, wake up! Mortimer doesn’t even care to spare you a single glance!”
Vivian’s face instantly turned uglier than a corpse’s.
But Connor didn’t give her a chance to retort. He slammed the front door shut with a heavy BANG and left the house.
The living room fell into a dead silence.
“Oh, Moon Goddess…” Lillian wailed in absolute despair.
“Enough, Mom! What the hell are you crying about?” Vivian interrupted her in frustration, looking down at her phone again.
Suddenly, her brows shot up. “That viral exposure video… it’s been completely taken down.”
“What?!” Lillian froze, almost unable to believe her ears.
She snatched the phone back, her trembling fingers frantically typing keywords into the search bar.
Sure enough, the explosively viral dashcam video had been wiped completely clean, as if it had never existed in this world.
She even tried to re-upload the copy she had just saved to her local drive, only to find that the system auto-deleted it the exact second it was submitted.
Lillian’s eyes suddenly lit up. Like a dying fire bursting back to life, she cried out, “It really has been completely scrubbed! Oh my god, who has the power to pull strings like this and help me?”
Vivian smugly curled her red lips into an arrogant smirk, a delusional, wild light flashing in her eyes. “Who else has the power to shut down all the media and wipe the traces so cleanly in such a short amount of time? Who else but Alpha Mortimer?”
“Think about it,” Vivian continued, her voice dripping with misplaced confidence. “That exposure video was so blurry, random netizens definitely wouldn’t recognize you and Dad. But Mortimer is so familiar with us, he definitely recognized it was you at first glance! Because he cares about me, he stepped in and scrubbed the video immediately!”
The more Vivian thought about it, the more convinced she was that this was the absolute truth. Her greedy, unhinged eyes began to glow.
“I knew it! Mortimer still has a place for me in his heart; his heart still aches for me! The only reason he didn’t come to the holding cell to save me yesterday must be because that cheap bitch Seraphina used some shameless trick to stop him!”
Vivian sneered coldly, her sharp acrylic nails digging deep into her palms. “After all, Edwin-that old Alpha who’s about to drop dead-has always shamelessly taken Seraphina’s side to help her fight for favor!”
Meanwhile, at the Shadowfang Healing Center…
Seraphina had just stepped out of the operating room.
Relying on a werewolf’s powerful mental fortitude, the consecutive five-hour heart valve replacement surgery didn’t leave her showing too much fatigue. It was already past 12:00 PM.
The staff cafeteria had thinned out. A few female werewolf nurses she was close with were huddled together, staring at a phone and angrily cursing under their breath.
Seeing Seraphina walk over, they hurriedly waved her down.
“Seraphina, over here!”

Seraphina walked over with a faint smile. “What happened? You guys look like you want to challenge someone to a duel.”
One of the nurses shoved a saved video of her phone right in front of her.
She frowned deeply. “Look at this Is the little guy in this video the puppy you brought back? Dash?”
Seraphina took the phone. After just one glance, the smile on her lips instantly froze.
In the video, Dash was so tiny, obediently hugging the base of the wall as he walked.
When someone approached, he just submissively cowered in the corner. He didn’t even show a hint of puppy aggression, let
alone bark at that woman.
How could that woman treat a barely one-month-old puppy so cruelly?
Seraphina stared fixedly at the screen, the rims of her eyes subconsciously turning red.
When Dash went missing last night, she and Mortimer’s men had checked the surveillance cameras, but the entrance to that dark alley happened to be a total blind spot.
