Chapter 223
Third Person’s POV
At this moment, Vivian still didn’t know that Mortimer had already seen the photos on Humphrey’s phone.
She had originally been waiting for Mortimer to come to her in a fit of rage and question her directly..
But she waited and waited until her patience finally ran out, and Mortimer still didn’t come to her. Even Randall and his group didn’t mention the photos at all.
In the end, she couldn’t hold back any longer. Acting on instinct, she went to the Imperial Prestige Club, and unexpectedly, she actually ran into him.
“Mortimer, look, I really didn’t lie to you! That woman betrayed you! I saw Seraphina with another Alpha in an upscale restaurant with my own eyes…”
As she spoke anxiously, she fumbled to open her phone’s photo album, shoving those carefully angled, seemingly intimate photos right in front of Mortimer.
Before Vivian could finish her sentence, something slashed through the air by her ear.
Mortimer slapped her phone out of her hand with astonishing force. The phone traced an arc through the air and crashed heavily onto the hard marble floor, its screen instantly spiderwebbing with cracks.
Vivian’s eager, self-satisfied expression froze on her face.
The oppressive Alpha aura radiating from Mortimer was so heavy that she almost fell to her knees. Her lips trembled violently, and finally, large tears began to fall from her eyes.
“Mortimer… you don’t believe me anymore? Are you really going to hurt me for a woman who cheated on you?” she cried out,
wounded.
The undisguised disgust and brutal cruelty in Mortimer’s eyes landed on her like a weight. The overwhelming pressure of the Alpha hierarchy made the wolf inside Vivian tremble uncontrollably.
“The matters between my mate and me are none of your business.”
Mortimer’s voice came rough and gravelly, each word cold as ice. “Didn’t I tell you to stay the hell away from me? Looks like my warnings weren’t strong enough. Maybe seeing what I’m about to do to the Davis family will finally teach a dumb wolf like you when to submit.”
Vivian was so frightened by the cold, ruthless determination in his eyes that she shook her head repeatedly.
Mortimer didn’t spare her another glance. He pushed past her shoulder and made for the exit.
Watching the man’s tall but cold, unfeeling figure disappear, Vivian completely panicked.
She was unwilling to accept it. She could not believe that the life-saving debt from years ago could be dismissed so easily.
She lifted her skirt and chased after him hysterically, screaming in the long hallway, “Mortimer! You can’t possibly be so heartless to me! You’re just mad at me right now; you must’ve been blinded by that bitch Seraphina!”
She simply couldn’t accept reality. How could she, once placed on a pedestal by Mortimer, the noble Lycan King, admired by the entire pack and envied by all, now admit that she was being ruthlessly discarded, thrown away like trash by him?
“If you really didn’t care about me, why would you go to such lengths to help my mother? When you used the Craig Group’s PR department to take down all those negative videos from the internet, wasn’t it because you were afraid my mother would be criticized, afraid I would be sad and cry?!”
She broke into harder and harder sobs, her delicate makeup completely ruined, tears streaming down as if they were her last

hope
Mortimer, who’d been striding forward, suddenly stopped in his tracks.
In that instant, his tall figure turned to stone.
He slowly turned his head, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Vivian.
Seeing him turn back, Vivian thought she had finally moved him. An almost delusional hope flared in her tear-filled eyes.
“Mortimer… I knew it, you always had a place for me in your heart, didn’t you?” she choked out, her tone softening as she took two trembling steps toward him.
“What did you just say?” Mortimer’s voice shook slightly. It was not emotion, but a warning sign that his control was about to
snap.
But Vivian was lost in her own fantasy, completely unaware of the deadly calm settling over him.
Eagerly, she repeated the story of Lillian abusing Dash and the videos being wiped from the entire internet overnight, as though she were trying to take credit for it.
At the end, she stammered, “Mortimer, could it be… could it be that you weren’t the one who arranged for those videos to be taken down for me?”
In fact, she’d never truly confronted Mortimer about this matter.
But the Davis family simply didn’t have that kind of power. After Lillian got into trouble, she kept thinking it over. In the city, who else but Mortimer could have that level of influence and a reason strong enough to go out of his way to protect her and her family’s reputation?
Mortimer didn’t answer her.
However, in that second, the aura around him instantly transformed into a terrifying, almost tangible wave of violence.
Even the lights in the hallway seemed to flicker under the suffocating Alpha fury.
Vivian was so overwhelmed by the sudden murderous intent that she fell to the floor with a thud.
She vaguely felt as if she had fallen into a bottomless abyss, but her intense unwillingness made her treat this as her last chance to struggle. She no longer cared about dignity, sitting on the floor and crying out, “Mortimer! Be honest with yourself! If you don’t love me, why would you go so far for my family? You must feel something for me, right?!”

Third Person’s POV
Her eyes brimmed with tears, burning with desperate anticipation.
But Mortimer’s expression had already ominous. (1
Wilmot stood with his hands in his pockets, watching the scene with a grim expression. The moment he heard their exchange, his face went rigid.
He suddenly caught the key point in the conversation, turned to Mortimer in disbelief and said, “Wait-Mortimer. The woman who abused Dash Seraphina brought back… that’s Vivian’s mother? And the bastard who used his privilege behind the scenes to take all the videos off the internet and obstruct the police’s investigation… that was you?!”
Mortimer said nothing, his fists clenched at his sides so tightly that his knuckles cracked, and black fur threatened to burst from the back of his hand as he lost control of his emotions.
His pale and twisted face was already an admission of everything.
“Damn it!”
