Chapter 254
Third Person’s POV
Mortimer smiled. The smile on his face grew wider, but the terrifying aura around him carried a chilling intent to kill.
What the Davis family was about to face might be far worse than bankruptcy.
“Where is Airella’s mother now?”
“Our people have already brought her out. She was in terrible condition at the care facility, and her illness was at risk of worsening. She is now staying in a private care ward at the Iceblade Healing Center, with a dedicated medical team taking care of her.”
Mortimer nodded. Only then did the suffocating Alpha aura slowly recede into his body. But the oppressive chill lingered in the
air.
“How is the situation with the Davis family?”
“All partnerships have been terminated. The Davis family’s cash flow has been cut off, and every project has been forced to stop.
Not only that, but all the money they had invested in the early stages of those projects had gone to waste because of the shutdown.
As long as Craig Group made its stance clear, no one would dare take over those unfinished projects. They would require massive investment while risking the wrath of the Craig Group. No one with common sense would make that choice.
“Release all the evidence against Vivian and everyone who bullied Airella back then. Include the evidence of Connor’s unlawful confinement as well.”
“Yes. I’ll handle it immediately.”
After Beta Tade left, the coldness on Mortimer’s face remained.
After class, Caldwell caught up with Seraphina and asked, “Sera, winter break is coming soon. Do you have any plans?”
“My parents have finished their work, so we’re going south to visit my grandparents and take a vacation. I’ll be going with them.
#
“I wish I had that.” Caldwell said softly, a hint of loneliness in his voice.
Seraphina noticed the change in his tone and looked at him. “What’s wrong?”
Caldwell sighed and looked toward the distant oak trees. He gave a self-deprecating smile. “I’ve never met my grandparents. I don’t even know who my father is. In the pack, whenever everyone gathers for the winter hunt or holidays, I never know where t belong.” 1
In a strictly hierarchical wolf pack, pups without a father or family backing often faced more judgment and exclusion
Hearing this, Seraphina’s expression softened with sympathy. “What about your mother?”
“My mother…”
Caldwell paused. “She lives alone in Alaska and refuses to come back for Christmas. Those snowy mountains are her home, after all.”
He quickly returned to his usual relaxed tone. “But it’s fine. I’m used to spending winters alone. I can go hunting myself and eat whatever I want. It’s not that bad.”
Yet the bitter smile at the corner of his lips betrayed him.

Seeing the disappointment and regret in his eyes, Seraphina’s sympathy deepened. “Have you ever been to the South? Why don’t you come with us this time? It’s warmer there, and you’ll probably like it.”
Caldwell hesitated. “Wouldn’t that be too much trouble? After all, it’s your family’s private gathering.”
“Of course not. My grandparents love having more people around. They enjoy a lively home.”
Seraphina patted his shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile. “Besides, my parents know that you took care of me in Alaska for half a month and saved my life. They’ve wanted to thank you for a long time. If you come with us, they’ll be happy.”
Caldwell pressed his lips together. His wolf happily wagged its tail, and a faint smile appeared in his eyes. “Then I’ll take you up on that.”
“It’s no big deal.” Seraphina waved her hand casually, not noticing the determination in Caldwell’s eyes as he looked at her.
During the waiting period before the mating bond was officially dissolved, Mortimer did not appear in front of Seraphina again.
At the same time, because Seraphina refused to accept a settlement, Lillian was sentenced to five years in prison.
When the verdict was announced, Seraphina was slightly surprised. She had assumed that even if Lillian received the maximum sentence allowed under the law, she would only be sentenced to three years at most.
Remembering what Mortimer had said that day, she guessed that his influence as the Alpha of the Blade pack had played a part
behind the scenes.
