Chapter 75
Third Person’s POV
“Vivian, you’re clearly not thinking straight. Your condition must be worse than I thought.”
Mortimer leaned in, his voice like a razor. “If your current healer is this useless, we’re swapping him out. Being sick is one thing, but staying sick is a choice. We’ll get a paner of experts. We’ll fix you, one way or another. Right?”
Vivian went ghost-white.
The man in front of her still had Mortimer’s face, but his eyes were a stranger’s-cold, lethal, and utterly done with her.
The thought of losing her hand-picked healer sent her into a tailspin.
“No! Morty, please! I’m not switching. Dr. Freeman knows my soul better than anyone. I’m staying with him!”
She forced a jagged, plastic smile onto her face. “Look, I’ll get out of your hair. You’re busy. I’m leaving.”
She turned for the door, desperate to escape the suffocating pressure of the room.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Mortimer’s voice dropped an octave, hitting her like a physical blow. “Not until you find Seraphina and give her a real apology.”
As he spoke, he let it rip. A massive, crushing wave of High Alpha dominance exploded in the room, slamming into Vivian’s subconscious. It was like a mountain collapsing on her soul.
Her knees buckled. Her wolf let out a high-pitched whimper, forced into total submission by the sheer weight of his will. Her mind went blank; she couldn’t even breathe.
She stumbled, nearly hitting the floor.
Her knuckles were white as she gripped the doorframe, sweat soaking through her silk shirt. Under the crushing weight of his aura, she forced the words out, “Fine, Morty. Fine.”
She wrenched the door open and bolted. The second the heavy oak shut behind her, the fear curdled into a dark, distorted rage.
Seraphina. That bitch actually sent him the security footage.
“You want to play dirty? Let’s play.”
She marched through the executive wing, her face a mask of jagged fury.
Outside, the assistants—who hadn’t heard a word of the execution inside-all stood up. “Goodnight, ma’am. Have a sate drive,
ma’am.”
Tade walked out of his office just in time to hear the “Ma’am” parade.
He facepalmed. “For the love of –”
He knew exactly how messy Vivian’s status was in Mortimer’s head, so he didn’t call her out to her face. But the second she was in the elevator, he marched into the bullpen.
“Are you people high?” he snapped. “Since when do we just call any woman who walks in here ‘Ma’am’? Who told you she was the wife?”
The staff looked like kicked dogs.
“But Mr. Tade… you said the woman who was close with Mr. Craig was his wife! We’ve never seen him let anyone else touch him like that. She acted like she owned the place!”
Tade winced. He could feel his job security slipping through his fingers.

“You got it wrong,” Tade growled. “She’s a friend. That’s it. She’s not the Luna. Don’t let me hear that word again.”
If Mortimer found out he basically trained the staff to recognize the wrong woman, he’d be opening a branch office in Siberia by Monday.
“So… Mr. Craig doesn’t just have a wife, he’s got a ‘special friend’ too?”
“Total power move. Very W*****d.”
“The billionaire cold-fish CEO starter pack. Called it.”
“Totally.”
Tade took a deep breath, wanting to scream. If this got back to Mortimer, he was a dead man.
Inside the office, Mortimer was staring at the wall. The silence was heavy.
He finally saw it. He’d given Vivian everything she asked for.
