Ex Wife's Collapse After Divorce novel Chapter 13

Chapter 13

“…What?” Vivian’s mind went blank.

“All of them. The supply chain partnership, the joint development project, the distribution agreement – everything. Gone.”

Vivian’s mouth opened. Closed. Opened again.

“Is this because of what happened earlier today? The confrontation?”

Rachel shook her head. “No. I asked. Their official response was…” He swallowed. “They said Lockwood Industries never qualified for the partnership in the first place. That the only reason the cooperation existed was because of a specific individual. And that individual is no longer affiliated with our company.”

The words landed like a bomb in a silent room.

Vivian stood frozen behind her desk. Her lips moved, but no sound came out.

A specific individual.

No longer associated with our company.

She had just signed the divorce papers. And now Stellaris – the single most valuable partnership Lockwood Industries had – was gone.

Her legs went weak. She braced herself against the desk.

‘It can’t be him. It can’t be.’

But the timing. The words. The cold certainty in Ethan’s voice when he said my ability, my value.

Vivian’s face drained of every last drop of color.

‘That person… is Ethan?’

The thought flashed through her mind like lightning.

And she killed it just as fast.

“No. That’s impossible.”

Vivian’s nails dug into the edge of her desk. Her jaw tightened.

“Ethan has no connection to Stellaris. Why would they cancel everything just because he’s gone?”

She forced herself to breathe. Forced the logic to hold.

But the question wouldn’t stop circling – who was the person Stellaris valued so much?

Knock knock.

The door swung open before she could answer.

Her HR manager rushed in, face white as paper.

“Ms. Lockwood – we have another problem.”

Vivian’s stomach dropped. “What now?”

“Arthur Voss submitted his resignation. Effective immediately.”

The room went dead silent.

Damian’s head snapped toward the door.

“Our new drug still has unresolved defects,” the HR manager continued, voice shaking. “The optimization project is only halfway through. Without him, the entire R&D pipeline is dead in the water.”

Vivian didn’t move.

Two hits. Back to back. In the span of ten minutes.

Since the day she’d taken over as general manager of Lockwood Industries, everything had gone her way. Every quarter, every deal, every board meeting – smooth as glass.

This had never happened before.

Her mind went blank. Her fingers trembled against the desk.

Then her eyes drifted to the couch.

Damian was still sitting there, legs crossed, expression carefully neutral.

“Damian.” Her voice came out raw. Desperate. “You must have some idea. You know everyone in this city have connections everywhere. You can fix this, right?”

Damian’s jaw tightened imperceptibly.

Stellaris pulling out meant lost revenue. Painful, but survivable.
