After her parents passed away, they took her in

Although she was adopted, the Vaughan family treated her like one of their own, but she couldn’t bring herself to enjoy it.

The Vaughans were full of self-made, strong individuals. Keira had wanted to build her own career, to prove she was worthy of the family’s kindness.

She hadn’t lived here in a long time. But today, it felt like she had lost her way.

It seemed like the Vaughan family was the only place she had left.

Keira lay uncomfortably on the sofa, her mind restless as she drifted off into an uneasy sleep.

In the haze of sleep, she felt someone gently touching her face. Startled, Keira jolted awake. The faint smell of alcohol reached her nose before she noticed the person sitting in front of her. The living room was dim, the only light coming from the faint glow of the city lights reflecting through the windows.

Kamden looked down at her, his gaze deep.

He wasn’t wearing his suit jacket, his tie loosened slightly. His crisp shirt clung to his muscular frame, hinting at the strength beneath.

He raised his hand and loosened his tie further, the movement strangely alluring in its quiet restraint.

“Kamden? Are you drunk?” She sensed he was a bit tipsy.

Keira tried to help him back to his room, but Kamden’s warm palm slowly slid up her face, inch by inch.

Keira froze, unable to move, her heart racing.

The next second, she regretted it. Kamden suddenly leaned in, his strong arms encircling her waist and lifting her effortlessly.

Keira’s legs were forced apart as she found herself straddling his lap, face to face with him.

This was insane!

Kamden lowered his head, his chin resting against her neck, his warm breath brushing against her skin like the lightest of feathers.

It was electric.

Like intimate lovers, slowly soaking in each other’s warmth.

At that moment, Keira felt as though her mind had exploded.

She couldn’t even name the feeling and her heart was pounding so hard she thought it might leap out of her chest.
