Chapter 74
ALLISON’S POV
I roll over in bed, stretching my arm out to find Justin, but all I grab is his pillow. My eyes slowly flutter open and I groan, falling onto my back as I stare at the ceiling. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I yawn. Where did he go?
Just as I’m about to sit up, the door opens and Justin walks in, drenched in sweat. The second his eyes land on me, a smile spreads across his face and he heads straight toward the bed.
“Good morning, bean.” He leans down to kiss me, but I press a finger to his chest and push him back a little. His eyebrow lifts in confusion.
“You’re sweating,” I whisper, scrunching my nose. “And you left me in bed.”
“Practice, baby.” He pinches my nose playfully. “But I’m back now and I brought-”
A loud crash from outside cuts him off. I flinch, my head snapping toward the door before we exchange a
look.
“Who the hell is that?” I ask.
He exhales. “That’s probably Luke or Martin.”
My eyes widen instantly and I clutch the blanket tighter around myself. “They’re here?”
He nods like it’s the most normal thing in the world before kissing my forehead and walking over to his
wardrobe, already pulling off his sweaty shirt.
“What am I supposed to do?” I ask, staring at him in disbelief. “When are they leaving?”
He glances back at me with a smirk. “Relax. They know about us.” That’s not comforting enough. “Don’t
worry,” he adds. “They’re chill about it. You should probably go say hi to them.”
“I’m never doing that,” I mutter, and he chuckles.
He kicks off his shorts and suddenly he’s completely naked in front of me. I slap a hand over my face, though I’m still peeking through my fingers.
“Justin!”
“Allison, they don’t bite,” he says, heading toward the bathroom. “They’re my friends. You’ll be seeing them around a lot anyway, so why not just get it over with?”
I throw the blanket aside and climb out of bed, wearing nothing but his oversized shirt and my panties.” You say that like I’m supposed to walk out there and be like, hey buddies, what’s up?”
His brows knit together. “That’s exactly what you’re supposed to say.”
“J!” someone calls from outside, sounding way too close to the door, and I immediately scurry back

against the wall. “Did you run out of eggs or something?”

Justin walks toward the door, still completely naked, but thankfully he doesn’t open it. “Check the bottom shelf of the fridge,” he calls back. “And try not to finish all my groceries.”
The guy outside snorts. “That’s literally what groceries are for…to be eaten.”
Justin shakes his head and turns back to me with a grin. “See? Super friendly.”
I’m showered and brushed when the smell of whatever Justin’s friends cooked up drifts into the room. My stomach growls instantly. He’s already out there with them, and damn him for leaving me here to figure
out how I’m supposed to gather the courage to walk out and say hi to those guys.
It’s not even that they’re a bunch of unhinged jocks. Luke alone is enough to fry every brain cell you have with his craziness. The guy has zero filter, and I’ve already replayed at least ten different things he could say that would make me instantly shy out there.
suck in a deep breath
“They don’t bite, Allison,” I mutter to myself, tugging down the hem of Justin’s shirt.
With one last grimace, I open the door and step out. My footsteps are quiet as I walk toward the living area, but the moment I appear, everything goes still.
Four heads turn at once.
Braydon-who I didn’t even realize was here until now-Luke, Zach, and I think Martin are all gathered around the table. They’ve been stuffing their mouths with food, but now they’ve completely stopped, just staring at me like I’m an alien that dropped from out of space.
Justin gives Martin a nudge on the side. “You guys promised you wouldn’t do this.”
I lift a hand awkwardly. “Hi…guys.”
Braydon is the first to crack, laughing so hard he nearly doubles over. Zach joins in, then Luke and Martin, and I swear I feel like the floor should just swallow me whole.
Calming himself down, Luke rises, brushing his mouth with the back of his hand. “Don’t mind them. They’re
uncivilized assholes. Come on, sit with us.”
I shoot Justin a glare because he’s not coming to my rescue and in fact, he’s grinning. Then I slump down
beside Braydon and give him a light smack on the head.
“Are you laughing at me too?” I whisper.
He leans closer to me with a grin. “We’re not laughing at you.” He flicks his fingers toward Justin in a dramatic fashion. “He’s the one we’re laughing at.”
“Still, it’s basically the same thing and-”

“Here’s breakfast.” Luke cuts me off, sliding a plate toward me. It has fried eggs, avocado toast, and a generous drizzle of honey on top. I drag my gaze from him to the plate, then to Justin, then around the room, before finally taking it slowly.
“Thank you,” I mutter.
“Don’t mention it,” Luke says, smirking at Justin. “We take care of our own.”
Justin frowns. “What’s so funny? You’re grinning like a donkey.”
Luke pretends to ponder, twirling his fork between us. “I’m just curious…how did sparks fly between you two, huh?”
I pause mid-bite and fix Justin with a look. First of all, I told him his friends were crazy, and he insisted
they weren’t. Okay, maybe not fully crazy… but definitely the most mischievous, chaotic people I’ve ever
met.
“Luke, J’s gonna beat your ass later,” Zach says, then glances at me. “Just eat, don’t mind him.”
I nod and take a bite and surprisingly, it’s actually good.
‘Am I the only one curious?” Martin leans in, our eyes locking. “Allie, no offense, but what’s so interesting
about J? What do you guys even talk about?”
I chuckle before answering. “Everything. He’s… actually talkative.”
