Chapter 155
SLOANE’S POINT OF VIEW.
61%
The past few days have felt somewhat….normal. At least, ever since my life felt like it had been imploded, twisted, and stitched back together ever since, well….everything. It was a Friday, and I was itching for the day to finally be over so I could enjoy my weekend. My mornings have been pretty quiet ever since I moved into the mansion.
I don’t know why I expected it, but it was certainly not the calm and quiet that came with living with my parents, Seraphina, and Ace. Maybe I’d thought they would smother me with questions, or whatever else, but it was pretty cool for now.
I tugged on the sleeve of Lucien’s hoodie, letting his scent comfort me as I tried to go over the torturous math class. It was another one of the hundreds of hoodies I’d managed to steal from my crazy boyfriend. I couldn’t help it.
He smelled like cedar and wood, and sometimes, he smelled like the perfect blend of spices, which made me want to gobble him up. I had a feeling he knew I’d been stealing it, but chose not to say anything. He loved seeing me dressed in his clothes or putting on something that belonged to him.
Whether it was the gold chain I’d stolen from his neck while he slept, or another one of his many shirts. It was too tempting not to steal it; they were more comfortable than my clothes!
But today would be the first time he would see me dressed in his hoodie; I wonder how he’ll react. My lower belly twisted in pain, forcing me to clutch the edge of my table to stabilise myself. My cramps were vicious today, forcing me to question my womanly existence.
All I wanted to do was go home, lie in bed, and bury myself in ice cream, chocolate and more snacks, but I didn’t calculate my cycle well enough this month. so now, I’m trapped in this class.
“Well, this is the homework for the weekend. I expect this to be submitted on my desk before eleven in the morning, understood?” Teacher Mike said, but no one bothered paying him any mind; half of the class were either on their phones while the other half were too busy talking in their cliques.
I knew they were talking about me.
Ever since I’d become Sloane Everhart, and not Sloane Bishops, the people who hated me have tried their best to become my friend. They were either going out of their way to get me smoothies, or snacks from the cafeteria, or they were umiliating Roxanne when she tried to taunt me.’
The former princess of the school looked nothing like the girl I recognised. Roxane, no longer dressed in the latest designer, was now dressed in the school’s scholarship uniform, with barely any make-up on her face, her skin dull and almost blotchy, and her hair would be a mess. Basically, she looked even worse than I did when I was a scholarship student.
I tugged on the skirt of the new uniform I was wearing. My dad had wasted no time in getting me the elite uniform for the children of empire owners. It felt weird to feel the expensive material of the uniform rub against my skin, and stomach the looks everyone gave me the minute I got out of my pink G-wagon,
dressed like this.
Honestly, I didn’t feel like hiding.
I fucking loved the attention.
Now, I can make them all shove it for fucking with me all those years ago.
“Class dismissed.” Teacher Mike declared, and the shrill sound of the bell ringing followed. I didn’t waste time; I got out of my seat and walked out of the
class.
“Oh, Sloane!” Seraphina says as she bumps into me. Or rather, I bumped into he “Are you okay?”

Chapter 155
“Yeah…I just have really had menstrual cramps.” I said, wincing as another wavef pain hit me in my lower abdomen.
“Oh, sorry. You need anything?”
“No, I just need to get to my locker. There are painkillers in there.”
She nods and grabs my books from me before pulling her hand into mine, so I’m leaning some of my weight against her, as we walk to my locker. The students part ways for us as we walk through them; some of them whispering, bu it’s loud enough for me to hear what they’re saying.
“Is she really the daughter of a fucking billionaire?”
“That’s what we saw and heard at the play. You think it’s some stunt. What if she hired them to pretend?”
“Didn’t you see that she drove into school in a G-wagon? I think Sloane’s better than us.”
“No way! How can a charity case be better than us?”
Seraphina moves to respond, but I stop her with my palm tightening over hers. Don’t. It’s okay.”
She purses her lips like she’s about to object, but rather helps me walk again, so we can get to my locker sooner.
“Oh, hey, Sloane,” Amara says, watching me with worried eyes as we stop at my locker. “You okay? You’re not hurt, are you?”
“No, it’s just my period,” I said, fixing my co-ordinates into my locker.
“Oh, sorry.”
“What the heck?”
“What is it?” They ask at the same time, before snickering.
“There’s a note… it looks weird,” I said, looking at the red envelope with caution It felt like a fucking Pandora’s box. “Should I
open
it?”
They both give wordless remarks and shrug their shoulders, so I rip the envelope open. My pulse quickens as tension wraps itself around my throat like a noose. All of a sudden, it feels like someone’s watching me this very moment. Itways felt like someone had their eyes on me; usually the students, but right now…it felt weird….like this was creepy.
I glanced around, my eyes moving around the hall, but there was nothing out of Mace. The hallway was alive with some students rushing to class, as some just stood around, throwing their heads back in laughter, and high-pitched squeals, their sneakers squeaking against the polished marble floor.
‘You’re being paranoid, Sloane. No one’s looking at you.” I muttered lowly to mylf before looking back at the contents of the note.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the words I’d seen….
You smile too much at him, but I’ll forgive you. Soon, you’ll remember who say you first, and I won’t have to punish you as much. See you soon, baby.”
“What the fuck?” I scoffed.
“This is crazy.” Amara and Seraphina said at the same time. “Who the fuck would do something like this?”
“That too, and knowing that Lucien is crazy possessive over you,” Seraphina said
I pursed my lips and bunched the paper into a roll before dumping it into the newest trash bin. “Whoever it is must want to have Lucien as an enemy.”
