Chapter 28
I need to get a fucking grip before I start blacking out to the thought of her all day.

By the time I walk back to the lounge, Sloane sits on the edge of one of the couches, her back stiff as she tries not to relax. She scans the room like she’s
still deciding if she belongs here. Her hair’s down today, curling around her shoulders, and reaching her lower back.
“You keep glaring at the door like you’re waiting for an ambush,” I say, dropping onto the couch beside her.
She jumps at the sigt of me,and rolls her eyes, but I catch the little twitch at the corner of her mouth, and the way she breathes easier with me in the room
now. “I’m just wondering if you brought me here to kill me or eat me.”
The thought of eating her brings back the fantasy from last night to my mind., but instead of letting it show, I grin slow. “Who says it can’t be both?”
Before she can fire back, the latch swings open, and in stroll the Horsemen ;Theo first, because he likes entrances, Cassian with his lazy, sharky grin, Jax with a big bag behind him; probably full of snacks, and Kai trailing last with a beer already in hand.
I’d told them they could come down now. Sloane had been the first person to enter this place; it’s served it’s purpose as far as I was concerned.
“Well, well,” Theo drawls when his gaze lands on Sloane. “The infamous girlfriend. I can’t believe you came, you do know we bite, right?”
“I bite back,” she says sweetly, not missing a beat.
Cassian chuckles. “I like her.”
“Don’t,” I say, just loud enough with a glower on my face. They all smirk because they know I mean it.Nothing’s funny when it comes to her.
We [the guys] set up at the long table in the center of the room, the red cups lining the surface in neat triangles.
We decide to play Beer pong first, the loser drinks, and loses one grand with every loss. Sloane didn’t know it yet, but I already made a huge transfer to her
account anonymously.
Once it’s ready, I call out to Sloane, and she comes to my side.
Sloane surprises us by sinking her first shot in the dead center.
“Beginner’s luck,” Theo mutters, as he stares at her with a childish look.
“Beginner’s skill,” she corrects. And just like that, the game’s on, there’s trash talk flying as Sloane and Theo go back and forth over who’s better between them at the game. It’s amusing to say the least.
The cups emptying as losers drink from time to time, and the air thickens with heat and laughter, as the game gets intense.
When we decide it’s enough,we switch to a nastier game.
Spin the shot glass with truth or dare rules, except whoever loses or forfeits drinks, and has to pay up tp Sloane. And people lose fast. I lose on purpose, just to pile up money in her hands for the fun of it, and so do the guys, as we all scamper to lose against each other.

Chapter 28
Cassian spins first, and it lands on Sloane.
“Truth,” he says, leaning forward, “what’s the worst thing you’ve ever wanted to do to someone in this room?”
She doesn’t even blink. “Knock Theo’s teeth out.”
Theo chokes on his drink at her answer, “Why me?! He whines like a baby.
I laugh at that, taking a bite out of the chips on the table.
On Sloane’s turn. she spins, and it lands on me.
She looks at me, but I waste no time. “Dare,” I say before she can open her mouth.
She tilts her head. “Put this on, and walk round this room.” She says, pulling up a pair of her heels; I didn’t even realise when she took it wth her last night.
“No.” I grab the shot of whisley, and down the drink in one go, before placing a wad of cash in her hands.
“Damn,” Jax mutters under his breath, “You really don’t want to take this easy on us.”
